We are very much interested in DVC, but I have not been able to reach my DVC rep for some of my questions. We would like to know what are some of the little perks DVC members get? For example, park tix discounts, golf discounts, food discounts at the parks, shopping etc.

The primary thing you should understand about DVC perks is that they are subject to immediate and unannounced change. Therefore, you should not even consider any DVC perk in making your purchase decision.

That said, there are a number of perks to being a DVC member. Probably the two biggest for most members are the AP discount (I think it's $100 off the AP price) and the ability to get DDP on points stays at DVC resorts without having to buy park passes. We do not currently get any other discounts on park tickets. There are Members Only events, including Members Only cruises on DCL.

There are a number of discounts -- 10% off dining at a number of restaurants (sometimes more at a few), spa discounts, free valet parking at DVC resorts, the discounted golf membership, occasional discounts at Cirque du Soliel, a 25% discount on cash rooms at DVC resorts (subject to availability, of course), and others.

We also have our own Member Services department, and I consider them to be an invaluable resource, plus the continually-improving Member website.

In addition to the DVC perks, we also get all of the regular perks of staying onsite that everyone else gets -- DME, free theme park parking, EMH, etc, etc.

The DVC golf membership costs $50.00 and is good for one year from purchase. It allows the member and up to 3 other players in a foursome to play after 10AM for a reduced green fee. The amount of the green fee depends on the season. In the October-December time frame the greens fees are 50.00 for all of the courses while the regular resort rates are $135.00 for Ospery Ridge and Magnolia and $119.00 for Lake Buena Vista and Palm. In the Jan to May time frame I think the DVC rates are $85.00 and the Resort rates are around $160 or $170.. The summer is much less, $35.00, I think. We don't usually go in the summer so I'm not as familiar with the rates for that season.

This bears highlighting and repeating. It is the best advice you will see on this thread. :)

Base your DVC purchase decision on the resort accommodations to see if that makes sense for you without any additional perks. If you do that, then any perks will be icing on the cake for you, and you won't be up in arms if Disney discontinues or changes them...which they most certainly will over the course of the contract.

Good luck in your decision process! :)
