DVC Mike Live from VWL (Jan 9-17, 2010)

The pictures are awesome and I can just imagine you and Mrs. Mike sitting in the rockers by the fireplace in Candlewood Pacific room. Needless to say - you'll get some good villas time in this trip. Thank goodness DVC enables us to go often so when we miss the parks for a couple of days it's a non-issue. Especially when you're at my favorite!!! Have a wonderful trip.

Mike, I am sooo jealous! We stayed in VWL for 10 days in July of 2008 and loved every moment of it! It is a smaller resort and feels very cozy. I would definitely stay there again although we loved our stay at BLT last month as well. Ranger Stan was still there in 2008. Did he really retire?

Hey Mike, you need to tell us about your new camera! Great shots! Did you use a tripod?

Well, it's a Nikon D5000 DSLR. I have just two lenses so far:

• AF-S DX 18-55mm 3.5-5.6 G VR
• AF-S DX 55-200mm 4-5.6 G ED VR

I have a Manfrotto by Bogen tripod as well as a Manfrotto monopod.

Once again Mike you have some awesome photos. Thank you for sharing them! I cannot wait to see the Lodge in person next week.

For now the bags are packed and we just have one more sleep for us, and in the morning we'll be on a plane headed to Orlando. Can't wait to be there too.

Beautiful photos Mike...but so sad about the DVC Mickey at the VWL being all covered up ! I was in WDW last Feb when they had them all covered up as well. Thanks for sharing.

Great TR! We love all the photos, keep them coming! DW and I read your TR while exercising and we couldn't believe how fast 20 minutes went by. I kept doing the exercise bike until we had finished reading all the posts... I didn't want to stop until we had read every single line.

BTW, before anyone wonders why it took us 20 minutes to read 50+ posts, it is because we stopped to really look at each pic and point out all of our favorite things. We do not need a copy of "Hooked on Phonics".

Great photos of the WL lobby, Mike........we just left WDW for home yesterday (1/8/10) and heard at the airport they were expecting a light snowfall last night.....we arrived home to northeastern PA late afternoon yesterday to a very chilly 17 degrees......today the high was 16.......and tonight single digits!
We stayed at BLT this visit, but, VWL is our home resort and we're looking forward to our next stay there ......haven't stayed there for about 2 years now.....our last few visits have been to AKV, BCV, and this visit to BLT.....we have no plans to stay anywhere but VWL for the next few years......we stopped by on Thursday evening for a little bit and felt a bit sad that we hadn't stayed there this time.........it's just such a warm, inviting environment.

We also just left on the 8th. and we live in NE Pa. We drove down so did not get home till today (Sun.) It is very cold. It was 18 when we arrived home. We stayed at VWL and had a great trip despite the cold weather. OKW is our home resort and we have stayed at VWL before and we love it. We had room 5553 almost at the end of the long hallway, but it was a great view of the lake and very quiet. I hope to do a trip report soon.

Yes, we love staying at the Wilderness Lodge when it's cooler at Disney! The theme really fits the weather. Of course, you realize the big fireplace in the lodge really doesn't give off that much heat.
