DVC Mike Live from Disneyland (5/17-5/22/09)

Make sure you see Fantasmic while you are there. It is so much better at DL than WDW. Is the Aladdin show still running in Cal Adv? I love that show.

What are they putting in where Libby Lu used to be? I see it is barricaded for construction in your photo.

Club Libby Lu's space is being remodeled into "Disney365" which will provide makeovers to preteens. Instead of princesses like Bibbidi-Bobbidi Boutique, it will be Hannah Montana, and the like.

Mike,
Welcome to Southern California! Enjoy your trip to my favorite place on earth. I'm looking forward to seeing your take on the original park.

Sadly, Fantasmic is not scheduled for this week, so I'll miss it. That's one of the disadvantages of not visiting DLR during the summer or other peak period.

The Aladdin musical is still running in DCA.

Have a great time and enjoy the GC. It's such a nice hotel.

Another great trip report...and your pictures are wonderful! I also hope your wife is feeling better.

Sounds like you are having a great time. It is very hot here in Northern California so enjoy the nice weather down there.

Weather's nice--and we arranged a little entertainment--in the form of an earthquake!

Did you enjoy the earthquake?

Melissa

Love your TR. Esp the photos. Did you hear the news that they are ahead of schedule and will be opening 2 months early at VGC. I hope your DW is feeling better. Don't forget to add VGC under your Dis avatar (not that I'm super-picky)

The weather is nice. Highs for the next couple days are 79-81 and lows are 58-60. Clear skys and (wait for it)... NO HUMIDITY like WDW.
We arrive for a 2 nite stay using points at Paradise Pier monday afternoon, leaving on wed. Maybe bump into you someplace?

A great DIS poster said recently...."trip reports with photos are great!".

Oh...it was you Mike!! :rotfl2:

And you are absolutely right!! Your TR's are the best! :worship:

I'm enjoying your report and pictures. Thanks...have a great time! Just hearing about your asparagus/halibut dish made me salivate!

Bobbi:goodvibes

Keep the photos and report coming and maybe I'll be able to convince my DH to make the Southern California trip within the next several years.

Thanks and have a great trip.

Subscribing..
It looks crowded!

I caught the "Remember...Dreams Come True" fireworks last night. I've never seen it before. It was interesting how they incorporated music and spoken words from many attractions and some interesting affects I've not seen at WDW. Definitely worth it.

I was standing in front of Sleeping Beauty's Castle at 8:39 pm PT when I felt the 4.7 earthquake that hit. The whole ground wobbled like a big truck was driving over a bridge you are standing on. I've not felt one since I moved away from California, so it brought back memories! Oh well, I guess I'm back home.

I'm headed out this morning to hit Nemo's subs, the Matterhorn, Indiana Jones and Space Mountain!

I guess I shouldn't forget to take my camera with me...

Looking forward to another great TR! Enjoy your stay :goodvibes.

A couple of quick questions ~ how many villas will VGC have when construction is completed? Will it be next to impossible to book at 7 months?
