DVC Merry Mixer??

Hi , I only bought into DVC last year and I know that in previous year's there has been a DVC Merry Mixer at Christmas, but I can't remember seeing whether they held them last year (2009)??

The reason I ask, is because I am about to book my MVMCP tickets and I see that I have pencilled in a DVC Merry Mixer for Thu 16th Dec - Does anyone know whether they are even likely to have them this year?(I guess if they didn't have them last year then it is unlikely to be on this year), but if they do still hold them - have they usually been on a thursday or is my pencilled in itinerary a load of rubbish!!

I don't remember what days it was on but they did have them last year. I would guess that Disney will keep having them as long as they keep generating sales.

The mixers have been going on since at least 2003 and they have been on a variety of different days...Tuesdays, Thursdays, Fridays...I think Wednesday one year. They don't normally announce the dates until a month or two ahead of time so it's hard to plan your day around.

Of course, I don't recall any of the MVMCP dates selling out--especially those held on weeknights--so personally I wouldn't bother giving Disney your ticket money 6 months early.

We went last Dec and had an awesome time!!!! They had a lot of dancing and kid activities. We got cute Christmas pics with characters, which we ended up using for our holiday cards. Cannot remember what day it was on though...

Last year, it was on Thursdays. We went to the one on the day we arrived (December 3, 2009) and had a good time.

thanks everyone - I think I will hold off on booking MVMCP at the moment - I am looking at the one on 12/14 which is a tuesday, so I think I would have to be very unlucky for it to sell out quickly! And I would like to get to a Merry Mixer if I can!!

I'm sure they have, but we would never book a MVMCP ahead of time anyway. We usually just book it if it's available after we get there.

I went to one last year, I think it was Thursday. Free apple cider or water plus a rice krispie treat. They did have soft drinks for $4 a can! Got a little ornament. Since we were staying at BWV it was convenient but I wouldn't go too far out of my way.

What time does it start? And how long does it last? Thanks. I'm arriving Thurs., Dec. 2--my first time, and figure I'd give a shot, along with Welcome Home Wednesday, of course!

thanks everyone - and CarlBarry thank you for taking the time to post that link - we will have our two small boys with us, so it sounds as though it might be a nice thing to do with them - so we will try and coincide one of our Epcot days with one and pop along!

We went to the mixers twice this past December. They were alot of fun. They were held on Fridays.

Sounds like a lot of fun. We'll be there from Dec 4-11, so perhaps we will be able to attend one.

We went for the first time this past Christmas and had a blast. I will say it was tight in there but we enjoyed our selves. Water and apple juice were free it was just soda and other drinks that there was a charge for.

We have UNFORUNATELY missed it the last 2 years due to our arrival schedule BUT did buy my BEAUTIFULL wife the ornaments that were offered off EBAY!

It's been mostly on Thursdays and I think it's usually gone from 3pm-6pm or thereabouts.
