DVC membership or Days Inn?

Just curious your opinion!

Assuming you are referring to "staying" at Days Inn... :)

If you are open to staying offsite, then DVC is still very expensive and probably not worth it. DVC can be a good deal if you want to stay onsite at the moderate or deluxe level.

Not to mention that hotel stays are more flexible while DVC is a commitment - you will owe annual dues for the points whether you still have a job or a pandemic limits stays for a period of time.

I'll stick with my DVC, thank you very much!:goodvibes
I will never again stay at a Days Inn, Motel 6, actually any "Motel", nor will I patronize hotels, or other services or travel companies, with the name "Express" in them. :earboy2:
As a used-to-be frequent business traveler; I've "had some bad experiences"
OP - this was just for laughs, right ??

There are many folks who visit WDW on a regular basis who just want a room to crash in. DVC wouldn't make sense for those people. I'm a DVC member but I'll be the first to admit it's certainly not necessary to be one in order to have some great vacations.

I probably agree that posting that particular thread title on a DVC board does sound like someone is looking to stir up a bit of righteous indignation among the members.

When I purchased DVC, I recognized that I was buying into a premium experience versus staying off site at a hotel. I have no regrets in my choice. While I do not travel to WDW as much now (retired and traveling internationally), my children go frequently and we manage the points usage effectively to avoid losing any points.

The "on-property" benefits should not be taken for granted. How many friends, relatives, friends of relatives, tell you to come stay with us when you're in Florida- "we're less than an hour from Disney World"! :rotfl2:
I fell for that way back in the early 80s, and we visited my SIL near Melbourne. We drove to and from Disney 3 days, and that was exhausting.
Traffic is worse now that it was then, parking is higher $, tolls are a killer, and driving back at night was intense with the poorly lit roads and the constant barrage of bugs splattering on the windshield.
I will take DVC for the WIN!:goodvibes

One bad room off property and you'll be setting up your DVC tour, ignoring all the advice about buying resale first, and taking whatever crappy rate they assign you bc you are buying 8 months early so you never.ever.ever. have to put up with a wet carpet, unidentifiable stains, and snakes in the pool ever again. Ever.

You couldn't pay ME to stay at a Days Inn... The locations near me (Chicago) are filthy and not safe.
Not really fair to say. I live in Chicago area and have actually been to a very nice one. They're all (or at least mostly) franchised, so it's just a coin flip. TripAdvisor is always your friend and first line of defense :)
