DVC membership card (blue card) question

I just re-read this disclaimer on one of the DVC websites and had a question:
"Effective June 3, 2021, to obtain a Disney Vacation Club Membership Card, Members must accumulate a total of at least 150 Vacation Points purchased directly from Disney Vacation Development, Inc. Disney and Concierge Collections options are not available for ownership interests not purchased directly from Disney Vacation Development, Inc. after March 21, 2011, and, effective April 4, 2016, Members who have not purchased an ownership interest directly from Disney Vacation Development, Inc. will not have access to Membership Extras."

Is this implying that if you purchased direct point prior to June 3, 2021 that do not total up to 150 or more, you no longer get a DVC membership card? This wording implies just that and doesn't say anything about grandfathering from 4/4/16 - 6/3/21.

No, it's saying the opposite of that.

The "you must buy Direct" rule started 4/4/2016. The "you must have 150 points" rule is 6/3/21 forward.

(All that said, nobody gets a physical membership card anymore.)

But remember, they can change that at any time if they feel like it. Chances of that happening are low, but you never know.

Which makes sense. They have so many rooms, there are so many members and most people will eventually sell. They have created their own competition.
