We will be in WDW from 11/29 to 12/7. We would like to do the MVMCP and I think our best option with least amount of crowds during our stay is on 12/3. Here are my questions:

1. How late can I purchase the ticket assuming it doesn't become sold out? Day before? I am worried about the weather since I have a 1 yr old with us and the tickets are non-refundable.

2. I read somewhere that DVC members can get up to 6 discounted tickets. Well, there's 8 of us plus 1 infant in 2BR. So I'm short 2 tickets. Is 6 really the limit, what if you have more people in a Grand villa? They pay full price? My husband and I are both DVC members, does that mean we can buy 12?

3. What should we expect in this event? Is it really different from the other nights?

Thanks in advance!

MVMCP is a great time and yes it is different from other nights. Yes...6 is the limit. Take the 6 and buy the extra 2 at regular price. You only save about $6 per ticket with the discount. As far as a selling out, some nights sell out faster than others and there is no guarantee of when they will sell out. We went our first time last November. It was the FIRST MVMCP of the 2013 season.

They only sell 20,000-25,000 tickets to the event (so I was told) and park capacity is like 70,000 or so. It will feel empty (except at parade times and fireworks). Get as far away from Main Street as possible in the beginning. At 7 they kick everyone out that doesn't have a wristband for the party. It can take up till 8 pm or more to get everyone out so Main Street is mobbed with those wanting a priority parade spot, and those leaving the park. Once 7 pm hits, only those with wristband will be allowed on rides, to purchase anything, and to get past checkpoints designed to get those who don't belong out of the park. Free hot chocolate and cookies at specific food locations. Ride lines are very short, and there are cool Christmas shows with characters at different spot/times.

Overall I highly recommend it if you've never done it before. My kids loved it so much we are going for a 3 day weekend in December just to do it again. 3 and 7 years old last year. They got to dance with jessie and bullseye in the diamond horseshoe in fantasyland. Really fun time. Of course there are exclusive Christmas party merchandise that only those attending can buy.good luck and have fun. We will be there Dec 8th. Sadly there is no DVC discount that night.

Thank you for your input!! I called MS today and the person I spoke to said I can buy 6 tickets and my husband who is also a member can buy the other 2. Just thought I'd share this info.

FYI - Not all rides and attractions are open during the hard ticket event.

We are doing MVMCP this year, it will be the second time for us. It's not as cool as MNSSHP, but still a great time. The characters in Christmas gear, the cocoa and cookies, the snow on Main Street, and the short lines for rides make it a great time for all.

I think it is not to be missed. I did it last year, and will do it again this year.

Glad you can get all the tickets at a discount? What nights can you do that? (As I am there 12/1-12/6 and 12/9-12/13)

One thing to be aware of, you do have to leave the park and re-enter to get a wrist band. Last year you could do this as early as 4pm, and I STRONGLY recommend that...otherwise the re-entry will get more crowded and take longer. Do it at 4, then get away from Main Street!

The parade is still crowded so be prepped for that. Also, just an FYI, you get wrist bands, and there are CM's combing the parks to make sure you have them (which is good, but does get a little annoying after 15 times)

I thought you could just go to one of the wristband spots in the MK to get your wristbands around 4pm instead of having to go out and reenter. Last year I read there were 2 or 3 around the park.

Please correct me if I am wrong.

You are correct. No need to leave the park and re- enter.

We went three times in a row and I guess there is no better time to go than the first and maybe the second. The third it was just getting to be same-ole-same-ole. We probably would have enjoyed it more had they kept the character dining at Liberty Tree Tavern during this time. I do not know if they have brought it back but I heard there was a high request for it they might have.
If you have not gone by all means try it. We were thinking of giving it another try, it has been several years for us now...smjj

Yes it is a great time for first timers, We have been going since 96 and pretty much did it every year for close to ten yrs... We went in 2011 and decided that it would be our last time, They really changed alot of things, by change I mean taken away and the price still goes up every year... My advice if you never did you will enjoy it cause its new and you dont know what it used to be like.. I have a Ticket from 96 for 22.00...lol....that was adult...kids was 16.00
