DVC Member Reception???

Hi everyone! Checking in to Boardwalk next Wednesday, and today I got an email from our guide about being invited to a member reception at the Top of the World Lounge. Anyone have any info on this?? Just wondering what it entails and if it is worth checking out. TIA!

Just be aware that, although they supply transportation for the initial sales pitch, for those who are already members, even though it's a sales pitch, you get there yourself.

Thanks for the info. At our original DVC sales pitch over at Saratoga we were given fastpasses for my whole family. I'd love to check out the Top of the World Lounge and if fastpasses were thrown in I would surely do it!!!

We're currently in 'the World' and attended this, this past week. Nice to see the TOWL. Had some sandwiches and cheesecake 'lollipops'. At the close of the presentation we had the opportunity to tour the rooms. Everyone attendind received a really nice pin and 3 fastpasses. DH and I used the fastpasses yesterday to ride Toy Story Mania - 4 times.

Sounds like it would be a nice thing to check out especially with food involved ! That's the only thing that would catch DH's attention. Have fun!

Called my guide yesterday and got a "reservation" for this for Friday of this week. Looking forward to seeing BLT finally and will enjoy the fastpasses since crowds will should be high over Memorial Day weekend.

Hoping they are still doing this when we are down in June. That would be a nice time for us to do this. Now if they would only let you swim at their pool as a perk.

There is an info card in the room with information about this.

On the card, the ending date for these 'meetings' is May 22. However, they've extended it with no announced new ending date. I signed up for the one on June 1. I'll make that an MK day, and the BLT tour at 1pm will be a nice break.

Make sure you bring your camera.
They let you go out on the walkway/patio on the top floor and take pictures. I got some great shots of the castle and space mountain, Epcot and Spaceship Earth, TOT and EE. I couldn't see the hat at the studios but by the time I got over toward that side they were trying to get us to go on the tour.
I learned some new info that I hadn't heard before and the video of the new cruise ship made me really want to take another cruise. It was worth it for me.
In addition to the card that will get you 3 fast passes I got a reuseable bag (like the green bags they sell at the stores but with the DVC logo) a legal pad sized leather look cover, and a pen, along with the pin and the food. The sandwiches were ok but I can't eat bread so I nibbled the filling off a few, but those cheesecake pops YUM!
