Anyone else. No more worry about hopping or not, planning vacations to maximize use of annual pass, disappointment if weather for a trip does not pan out.

No restrictions Lifetime Pass good for all parks, all days, no restrictions

Who's with me and how much would you pay?

Intriguing idea:) You can bet the idea has been considered by Disney from time to time. Assuming that the price would be exorbitant, we probably wouldn't do it. The AP works pretty well for us.:earsboy:

I would consider buying one, depending on price.

I remember about 15 years ago, they were considering selling a lifetime pass for something like $1,500 and at that time that represented about 10 years of annual passes, but I am not sure if they ever sold any. I remember it because I bought a brick on the sidewalk when my daughter was born.

I'm so with you, and I would buy them in a heartbeat. Even if I had to buy one at a time over a few years, I'd spend big bucks. Just thinking through it, but maybe up to $4k each? That's about 10 years of APs at today's prices with a DVC discount. I would hope they would do all parks, including water parks, Disneyland and any future parks in the US. I bet saying parks around the world would be pushing the dream! LOL!

What an awesome idea! :thumbsup2 you should write MS, along with all the rest of us! ;)

I love this idea. I'd pay between 4K-5K for passes, since the kids are so little and they could use these FOREVER? I'd have to buy them one at a time for a while, but it sure sounds good to me.... Not worrying about tickets would be fantastic.

Well, we can dream, right?:cloud9:

I was looking at the LegoLand site for the new Orlando area park, and they are offering a Lifetime pass.

There standard pass is $99 and there "plus" annual pass is $159 and there "ambassador" (lifetime) pass is $2500.

With this pricing model the Disney price would be $531 for an AP, $670 for a PAP then a lifetime would be (25x the AP) over $13,000.

If that was the case, then I would have to be out!

If it was like someone else mentioned at like $4,000 to $5,000 I would be interested.

It could be one of those "tiered" benefits. $4995 for the Lifetime pass and for every DVC point you own, you get $1.00 off your pass for all the names on the contract. So, if you owned 1000 points you would get $1,000 off your lifetime pass, making int $3995.

At first years ago I dreamed of an AP good one both coasts - and totally thought it to be a pipedream, but then sure enough, there is was and I got one. :thumbsup2 That's been wonderful...

... now something like this? A lifetime pass? That would be more than terrific, and I'd love to get one if it were available - especially if if were good at all of the domestic parks, water parks, etc... even better of course if it were to include the offshore parks as well, but I don't think that would ever happen since Disney doesn't own the offshore parks outright. Of course the price would be high, high, high... and we'd have to stagger purchases, but hey, that would be incredible to not have to worry about admission again. :cloud9:

If only...

one can only dream.....:rolleyes1

And is would make me buy more points, knowing that all I'd have to buy was airfare. Love the idea, but don't think it will ever happen.

As cool as it would be, I doubt it would happen. DVC Dude notes that 15 years ago such a pass would have commanded $1500, but now many would argue that a price three times that is fair. If you look at historical prices of passes, this rate of price growth has been sustained by Disney for the forty years MK has been open. Given this growth, what price would it take for a Disney exec not to feel that they gave away the store 10 years from now?
At a minimum, I'd think 20-25 times the price of a current AP, so now you're into five figure territory.

On another note, many posters have noted that the vaunted Disney customer service has declined from amazing to somewhat less than amazing in the last several years -- by how much is certainly debatable. Buying a lifetime pass commits you to WDW even more than DVC does, without even the recourse of the resale market. If only a few of these passes were sold, I doubt it would change the incentive structure for Disney much, but if a significant volume were sold, it would change the relationship between Disney and the lifetime pass holder in ways that would not encourage park development and service.

I doubt that it will ever happen. They know they have us coming back to use those points. Of course a majority of us will want to visit the parks when we do use our points. What incentive is there for them to take a couple grand from us now? They know we will be handing over a couple hundred a year for the next 30-40 years! The revenue stream via ticket sales is far greater over the life of our contracts as opposed to a short onetime infusion of cash.

Plus a majority of owners would likely have to finance such a large purchase (and most of those are already financing their points.)

It would be nice but I highly doubt that we will ever see such an offer. But if we did, I probably would hav to consider it (at least for myself!)

No.

The downhill trend in Disney quality would be enough to keep me from tying myself to that star. However, more importantly, we've never been "Disney Lifestyle" people - we've been "Disney is a great vacation with kids" people.

I'm with Crisi on this one. How do I know I will WANT to go to the parks 10 years from now? Heck, in 10 years, I'll be in my mid 70's and I might not even be going to WDW anymore. No thank you. I'll just keep hoping they continue the AP discount and I'll worry about when I want to buy them.

I would pay $1200.

I don't want to tie up too much money because then that money is not working for you.

I would pay the equivalent of 3-5 years of APs for a lifetime pass.
But I'm sure Disney would price it much higher and I doubt I would be able to afford that, or even want to use my money that way if I could afford it.

Ive been going to Disney World since it opened, 50+/- times in 39 years, :scared1: (I stopped counting) I've earned a lifetime pass!

I think I would settle for an AP that was good like TIW--till the end of the month it is purchased a year later.

I think it would also be great to be able to pay for it monthly.

No.

This is our situation exactly, and we are nearing the end of that run.
Now maybe it will cycle back around when the kids are gone and we "rediscover" Disney as adult travelers...but maybe not.
It's been a blast for the last 10+ years though:yay:
