DVC Member Paying Cash for Res Question?

My wife and I are planning on staying at Port Orleans for 2 nights and would like to pay cash for the reservation. Do we as DVC members get a discount? If so, do we book the room through DVC or Disney Reservations? Also, is there a special code we need to use?

no discount - dvc member only get a discount (25%) when staying at a Dvc resort and I think you have to go through MS to get this room????

in Jan 2 - if you get the annual pass - you will be entitled to those discounts

MS can make reservations at non-DVC resorts only using points. If you want a cash res at PO, you'll have to go thru CRO. The only DVC discount for cash reservations is 25% at DVC resorts (when available).

As spiceycat suggested, there are sometimes AP (and other) discounts available, but those have to be reserved thru CRO.

I have already used my points for our 2 week trip in June to VWL and BCV but want to end our trip with 3 or 4 nights at Vero Beach on cash. I'm really hoping to be able to get my DVC discount of 25%. I'm also an AP holder. Does anyone ever get AP discounts for Vero Beach? Anyway, main ?'s are how far in advance should I book an Inn room for mid-June, and when do you know if a DVC discount is available? Thanks.

call member services,I called about a month ago and got a good cash rate(with member discount) for vero beach.I forgot to say it was for the first week of june so call anytime now.

Go to www.disneyworld.com and click on the "Passholders" link. You will be asked to enter information from the back of your AP, and can then sign-up to receive AP holder mailings.

DebbieB's link to Mousesavers will give you an overview of the discounts that are currently active, but, IMO, the best way to get notified of new discount codes is right from the source.
