DVC Member only pins

I understand that there is a limited set of 4 pins coming out for members only, each one is to represent one of the 4 parks. Does anyone know if these can only be purchased at WDW? Is there a way to purchase them without going to WDW or can they be purchased over the internet? We will not be going back till November and I would like to get the set.

A series of limited edition pins have been designed for DVC Members exclusively. One pin will be released each quarter beginning in February 2004. On Sunday January 18, 2004, a special OPEN EDITION pin will be released that will be available for the entire year. This Open Edition Disney Vacation Club Members only pin features Tinker Bell. It is dated "2004" and says "Members Are Magical."

These pins are only available to DVC Members. To purchase the pins, DVC Members must show their valid membership ID and request the pin at the merchandise location's counter. Regular limited edition purchase restrictions apply (2 per guest, per day). Pins available while supplies last.

All pins will be available at the following merchandise locations at the Walt Disney World Resort and Disney Vacation Club locations:

Before the Jiminy Cricket member pin there was a Tinkerbell member pin released first. We picked them both up at the Sorcerer's Hat in MGM. I kept waiting for the CM to ask for our member card but she never did.

Looks like we won't be getting a LE Jimminy Cricket Pin for DD. We don't visit until October - doubt there will be any left!

Never mind, that little pixie works in very mysterious ways with her dust...........that is definitely the kind of dust that I don't mind!!

At least if those pins are released quarterly, we might be there for a future release.

PS Why does my countdown go slower than all the others? Maybe it's something to do with cold, grey and rainy Yorkshire days LOL.

Just got back and we bought 2 Tink pins at the trading station at DTD. The CM did limit us to 2 pins, though he DID NOT ask us for a DVC card. The store at OKW was sold out of the Tink pins.

I bought the Tink pin at Downtown Disney on the day that it was issued. I was asked to show my Member card.

Does anyone know if you can buy these pins at the pin cart on the Boardwalk? What about Screen Door? Or does the list of places mean the gift shop on the lobby level?

Just got back from OKW. We bought the Jiminy Cricket pins at the Conch Flats general stroe at OKW. They were out of the tinkerbell pins but we were able to get them at the Studios in the pin shop under the hat. In both cases they asked for our member cards not just our resort ids.
Now if I can just find a way to go back 3 more times this year to get the other pins.

Am here at BWV now. OKW was out of the JiminyCricket pin but I got one at DTD. It seems the main pin stations have them. I have not been able to find the Tink pin anywhere, but they were not a limited edition as the JC pin is supposed to be.

Another question, does anyone know when each pin will become available? Will they come out every couple of months? I was told that there will only be 3000 of each pin made available! We have the JC pin but will not be coming back till December, how do we get the pins issued between now and then? Other then coming back down everytime one is issued, which is out of the question!!

My earlier posts on this same thread gave this information:

JC pin was a limited edition of 5000

It was offered in February and the press release said they would be offered quarterly, so my guess would be May, August, & Nov.

I got all the infor I posted from DIZPINS. com, I suggest going there for info and of course, you can get the JC & Tink pins now on EBay. Of course, at much more than the $6.50 & $10.50 that they sold for at WDW, but it is cheaper tha another trip instead.

BWV should have the pins available at the Screen Door. We asked last week, and they were out of both pins, but expected more. We did find them at MGM.

SharonS - thanks for the info on the Screen Door. We will try there while visiting the Boardwalk on our trip at the end of the month.

Rex - thanks for the heads up about the article in the lastest Vacation Magic. I downloaded it off the site. Should we have received it in the mail yet?

Any pin traders out there who would like for me to look for the Tink or JC pin, just send me a PM. I will be glad to pick up a couple each day.

Hubby is at OKW now. Called and said he looked and asked everywhere for the Tink and Cricket pin and it was sold out each place he tried. They told him to try ebay.

Or have him make a "little" side trip up to the HH resort. Not too far, right? I was there less than 2 weeks ago, and they had lots left. Kicking myself now for not stocking up.
