DVC member online check-in, what does it involve and how does it work?

I want to plan on doing the online checking the month before we go to the boardwalk, but I was wondering, how does it work, and and what kind of questions do they ask you for the online check-in? How much time does it generally save? (and is there any other important information I might need to know/ consider or think about with doing the online check in? (I don't have much hotel experience(for at least checking myself in as you can probably tell by my post lol...

You enter your expected arrival and departure times, cell phone and/or email for room ready notification, CC for room charging and purchasing PINs.

Online check in was designed to allow guests to shorten their check in time at resorts with long check in lines. DVC resorts don't really have long lines and when we have checked in online, I didn't notice any benefit.

I've done it twice and waited longer than those regular guests that came after me to the another CM. And I was 1st in line both times for DVC check-in
