I don’t see any mention of specific Blue or White Member Card but must have DVC Card and matching personal I.d. for verification And times change .. Also no restroom facilities in building !

Yes, its been open for quite some time now. However they do limit the number of people so you may have to wait to be admitted.

Yes, I had to wait about 10 minutes the last time I visited in late May. There are a few benches in the store area. They were using the elevator to go up to the club, I guess to keep people from clogging the stairs.

It's a DVD-funded perk (i.e. marketing expense), so white card members are not afforded access.

They told me they would text me when I could go in last week. I left, and wasn't texted for roughly 45 minutes.

I don't think a 45 minute wait time still fits the typical usage of the word "lounge".

Calling it a "perk" would be like calling Beaches and Cream a "perk" of staying at Beach Club. Good luck perking your way in.

If you're planning to ride Figment, go to the gift shop and sign up for the DVC lounge first, then go on the ride. We did the opposite and then had to wait around in the gift shop for about 10 minutes before being texted that we could go up.

Any mention/rumor of an extension in to 2022?

I assumed that somewhere I read that it would be open thru 2022. The reason I thought this was that my card expires on 12/31/21, like everyone's, and now we're supposed to use a digital card, however that works. I have a trip planned next month, 2022, so I was wondering about getting into the lounge with an expired card.

It just gets extended one year at a time and the website hasn't updated to show that it will be available through 2022 yet. That has people wondering if it will be extended. I think it will because they have Riviera to sell and VGF2 coming online so it's a nice little marketing tool.

They really need a lounge in each park along with a whiskey bar in each lounge. Then they'll sell some points.

Last official mention was January 2021 where they confirmed it would "remain open through 2021." It's always been promoted as a year-to-year thing with no promises of future availability. For the first few years, they would make some statement late in the year confirming status for the following year, maybe at the December owners meeting. The December '21 meeting had a segment where they did an overview of "Membership Magic" perks and there was no mention of the lounge. It's a perfect opportunity to confirm the lounge will remain in place for 2022, but DVC did not do so.

2021 was the first time they went until January without commenting. If it was scheduled to close on 12/31/21, we probably would have heard leaks by now. But given the likely cost of supporting the facility and EPCOT being somewhat in flux with its redevelopment, it's reasonable to conclude that the lounge could close at any time. Until DVC says otherwise.
