DVC Member Cruise

Well we are about 33 days away from the DVC Member Cruise. This will be our first, so we are quite excited. Granted we are going on the new Dream, but I thought I would start a thread to get those of you that have been before, to give us some insight into the trip. When should we be expecting the packet in the mail? Any clues as to special guests? Any planning tips, etc. I just open this thread up for anything related to the member cruise.

Yes, please! DH and I are in the same "boat" (such a BAD pun; need more coffee). I will be checking this thread several times a day. I am starting to realize that it's been 10 years since our last cruise, and I am hopelessly out of date on my info. Help!

The packet from DCL should be arriving any day now. DVC will not tell us anything about the cruise prior to the sail date. Special guests are subject to change up to the last minute. As for planning tips, bring an extra suitcase for the gifts that will be left in your stateroom everyday.

We received our packet this week.

I'm trying to learn about the arrival time/ process. It says our arrival time is 12:30. What would happen if we got there a little earlier? Does it result in having to sit in the terminal longer?

We too received our packet last night. Let the excitement begin. From what I am reading they are assigning people into groups based on your given arrival time, and if you are not in the group, you wait longer. I also read where they boarding won't occur before 1:30 anyway. Just my take on it.

As of August 2, the Port of Canaveral instituted new boarding times for the Disney ships. The time you have been assigned will be adhered to, and if you arrive early they may require you to wait outside of the Port building instead of entering early. Not convenient in the hot Florida sun...
