DVC Member Cruise

The 2010 Member Cruise is September 12 - 16 and is sold out. The 2011 Member Cruise should be announced during this years. I believe that the 2011 Member Cruise will be September 18 - 22, 2011. You can pay with either points or cash. You can not mix points and cash for a single passenger.

THIS WILL BE OUR 4th MEMBER CRUISE, NORMALLY WE HAVE GOTTEN A BALCONY BUT THIS YEAR I DIDNT GET THRU UNTIL 3pm AND GOT AN OUTSIDE CABIN ON DECK 1 BUT WE ARE ON WAIT LIST FOR UPGRADE. THEY TOLD US MEMBERS WILL CANCEL FOR SOME REASON OR ANOTHER. YOU COULD CALL AND SEE IF YOU COULD BE PUT ON WAIT LIST. OTHERWISE YOU WILL HAVE TO WAIT UNTIL THE SAT. IN NOV THAT THEY ANNOUNCE TO START CALLING AT 9am. ITS VERY POPULAR.

Does anyone know if the cost of this cruise is relative to the cost of other DCL cruises. I think it would be fun, although taking the kids out of school so early in the year would be tough. Just wondering if it is much more expensive then other cruises.

Can you pay for it with cash?

I actually was pricing a Disney cruise a couple weeks ago with September dates, and the member cruise came up for $100,167/person for a Cat. 5 stateroom. I know that the cruise was sold out almost immediately, but I guess if you were willing, you could pay cash. :rotfl2: :upsidedow

One big difference with Member's Cruise is all tips are included and in addition you get gifts throughout the trip as well as many special "shows". We will be doing our first MC this year but after reading several TRs from past ones it seems to be well worth the extra money. Also the MC is the only one that does 2 days at Castaway Cay (for the shorter cruises) also a plus for many. We paid cash - because I am ALWAYS out of points:rolleyes1!!!

As others have stated, you can definitely pay cash for the members cruise. The cruise is sold out for this year but you can always add your name to the waitlist. We paid cash for last year's cruise and this year's. Last year they announced the dates for the 2010 members cruise during the 2009 members cruise. However, you can usually figure out when it is because there are a couple of days missing on the DCL website in Sept. Someone usually starts a thread on the Disney cruise line board around Oct. to see who is calling in to book the cruise in Nov.

Keep in mind that the 2011 Member Cruise will be on the new Disney Dream.

So true. There will be more rooms but also more interest I am sure. Who knows what the prices will be like.

Hopefully they will be lower as the prices for the Dream are lower than those on the Wonder. Booking day for 2011 is going to be rough on MS since the Dream has many more staterooms.

I hope so. I am still holding out hope that I will be able to go. I know it will be rough on MS. I hope there will be more people manning the phones.

It will also be rough for those calling in too. This year was bad for me. I did not get through until 1 p.m. I was disconnected around 9:30 a.m. and couldn't get back through until then.

Those prices aren't bad. Especially considering tips are included. I think it would definitely be worthwhile, especially for a double dip at CC. Hmm. Off to refigure our next few vacation years.....

MEMBER CRUISES ARE SO MUCH FUN, OTHER THAN THE SPECIAL GIFTS AND ENTERTAINMENT AND FIRST SHOWING OF MOVIES LIKE SNOW WHITE, YOU CAN SIT BY THE ADUT POOL AND BE SITTING WITH A DISNEY LEDGEND OR BROADWAY SINGER AND TALK TO THEM. 2 YEARS AGO ON THE INSPIRATIONS CRUISE MY WIFE AND I HAD LUNCH AT SERENITY BAY WITH VINCE PAPALI AND HIS WIFE. Come join us in the 2010 dvc cruise meets thread - http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=2325257 - to share your knowledge, stories, and so we can get to know you and vice versa.

How do you know the day to book the member cruise?

In prior years, DVC has mailed out an information postcard and the information will be posted on the member website. I'm sure there will be several posts here also.

Sorry to revive this post. Thought I'd try here instead of starting a new thread.
Does anyone know if you can book multiple staterooms? We want to go on a cruise with another family that are not DVC members. They have a family of 6 so would likely need two rooms. Can I book and pay for our room and for their two rooms even if they aren't members?
