DVC Member Card Error?

I purchased a resale contract several months ago, long after the new restrictions were put in place for non-direct buyers in April 2016. From everything that I read on the boards, direct buyers get blue membership cards while resale buyers like me are supposed to receive white cards. However, several weeks after my purchase, I received blue membership cards in the mail from Disney. So did I receive the blue cards by mistake? Would I receive the same benefits as a direct purchaser by using the blue card? I don't have any interest in most of the perks offered to direct buyers and I could probably receive similar discounts using my Disney Visa. I was wondering, though, if the blue card would get me into the DVC lounge at Epcot or whether they would punch up some info on a computer if I presented it and "bust" me. Thanks in advance!

There have been reports that some non-qualified buyers received a blue card in error. Unknown if you will get caught, I would just wait and see.

I believe there are two instances where they verify the membership - at the member lounge in Epcot and when purchasing APs. I do not think it will work for either but probably would work for merchandise and dining discounts.
