Does anyone know if a DVC member staying at one resort have access to other DVC resort areas. ie, can a VWL guest visit BLT or BW areas at will?

Access at BLT to the building and pool are controlled by KTTW cards. Only KTTW cards for guests staying at BLT will allow entry.

You can visit any other Disney resort.

They will ask for your ID at the gates to DVC properties plus I keep my DVC member card with me when we are there.

Can't go to Top of World lounge at BLT unless staying at BLT on points or on cash reservation made through Member Services. In addition to what Erionm said about BLT KTTW being needed to enter that building & pool area, from what I remember AKV pool area is also gated and only for guests staying there with associated KTTW. Villas pool at BCV as well as Storm Along Bay is not available to members unless staying there.

:)

Although there are some limitations, like pools and BLT Top of the World, anybody can go to any resort and wander around. We do it frequently. You can even stop at the front desk and ask for a map and suggest things to see.

Resort lobbys not to be missed over the holidays include Grand Floridian, Wilderness Lodge, Boardwalk, and Beach Club.

Where you own has nothing to do with what you have access to when you visit if you stay at another resort. Unless your pool is open for pool hopping (not AKV, not BCV, not BLT) and pool hopping isn't blacked out, you can swim there.

If you own at BLT and stay elsewhere, you cannot go up to the Top of the World Lounge. You must be staying at BLT on points or cash through MS to be able to go to the lounge.

If you are a DVC member and staying offsite or at a non-DVC resort, you cannot pool hop. If you are a DVC member and paid cash to Disney Reservations Center to stay at BLT, you cannot go up to the TOTWL.

even if your staying off-site you can visit the resorts:goodvibes

Resort hopping is one of our favorite Disney pastimes! During Holiday time, we love to visit all the lobbies to see the decor and any ginger bread items they might have. There are several resorts whose lobby have great things to see any time of the year. Wilderness Lodge and Animal Kingdom lodge in particular. Both of those have artifacts that make them a lot of fun to tour. Then there is the detail in the decor that is great to look at too. I just love the fireplaces at both WL and AKL.

I was staying at SSR and wanted to check out BLT. I went to a DVC desk and asked about a model room. They said to go to the resort and knock on the door and show your member card. I got in and toured the resort.

If visiting one resort, ex. OKW, can you use the community room at another resort, ex. BWV?

Thanks,

We were at AKV this past March and were given free day passes to go down to Vero Beach. We were able to use their pool and beach facilities. That was nice!!!

The gates at both Kidani pool and even BLT pool are often open. The doors to BLT are ALWAYS open, blown by the breeze. So while SWIMMING is not allowed at these pools, looking around is easy enough.
