DVC Marathon Buses?

I'm doing the Goofy Challenge in 2006 and will be staying at SSR. Do the DVC resorts run buses to/from the race starting lines?

Yes, each resort will have buses to Epcot for the start. I think they start running about 2:30AM or 3AM. We were at OKW for the last marathon and my husband and a few others got worried when the bus did not come to pick them up at the bus stop. I don't think they got over to the start until about 4:30AM.

Deb & Bill: At OKW, did the buses come to each of the bus stops or just to the one at the HH? I'm planning on staying there for the 2006 1/2, and need to know if I should ask for near the HH??

Yes. I believe they start running at 3 or 330 AM.

I am travelling with a group, some of whom will be doing the 1/2 marathon, some of whom will be doing the full marathon, some of whom will be doing both.

Three years ago my DH barely made it to the start line in time because the buses were so backed up. We were staying at the BC that year. Now we'll never stay anywhere but a monorail resort for the marathon.

You may want to try posting on teh Transporatation board. Chip N Dale Express there is a bus driver who's VERY helpful. I'm sure he can give you the deatils along with the best time to catch the bus to avoid the big backups.

We were at OKW. The busses went to every stop. We were down by Turtle Pond though, and the first few busses skipped us. There was an internal phone at the bus stop, so we picked it up, and were able to catch the next bus. HTH. We're staying at BCV for the half this year.

Thanks for answering my a question I had. I was wondering if the monorail would be running. I'm staying at Poly for the 1/2 (and hopefully the full to complete the Goofy Challenge). Figured it would be easier to get there by hopping on the monorail.
