DVC & Magical Wishes?

My friends finally became DVC members at the end of Novemeber (horray!!) Every year, before becoming members, they would stay at the YC for 2 weeks, booking a package through American Express Travel with the Magical Wishes Package..($$$)
They really enjoyed this and used every wish every day...mostly for breakfast and dinners out. They said it cost around $800.00 more, but was well worth it in thier opinion!
Now that they are DVC members and will go to the BCV's every year, hopefully for thier two week stay, they still want to buy a Disney Magical Wishes package. Not the hotel, but just the wishes, they they will use to eat etc.
They asked when they were at the YC in December and someone told them they could, now they are home and have called MS, one CM wasn't sure, yet another didn't know the price!...they said call CRO....they called CRO...they said call MS!
Typical run around...no one knows...Does Disney let DVC members add on a Dining Package???
I can't imagne that Disney wouldn't sell something for a price!
Please let me know your experiences, so I may relay the answers to them....as they just bought a computer for the holidays and aren't ready for the boards just yet! Hope I explained this enough. Thanks in advance for any answers you can give, Deb

I've never seen it offered in any of the DVC newsletters or heard of anyone who bought it as a separate item. I believe it's only available as part of a room & ticket package. They used to offer DVC members the old food & fun plan for a separate charge, but when that ended there wasn't a replacement.

I am not familiar with that specific plan but I am certain that they will not be able to buy it separately and if they could, it would be too expensive to make it worthwhile. Besides, Disney's typical MO for a package is to add up the price of all components and add 5-10% extra for the convenience of a package. I suspect they'll do much better just paying cash and using their DVC membership to the fullest.

Thanks so much for the info...I relayed the replies tonight to my friends and although disappointed ( ) about not being able to purchase the meal program during thier next stay, they are still excited about owning DVC!!
