On our February trip I got purple every time, but my husband did not get purple at all.

Same here.....but he didn't care, so all was fine.
He likes getting green
I hate getting blue....which is what I usually got, so glad it changed to purple

Nothing for me to indicate DVC. Got the error light a fair number of times last week.

My friend, Patricia, got the purple light, she did not even notice.

There are no AP specific color schemes at the touch points.

DVC has a Purple to Green color scheme.
Limited Edition MagicBands which currently retail for $32.99 each have a unique color scheme.

We have been getting the purple to green color scheme since we've been at WDW from 3/25/17 to present. There may have been a couple times it did work. But both DH who is primary and myself are getting the dual colors.

We were there last week. My band resulted in the purple/kind of fuscia-like color. My husband's was green. I asked about it and the CM told me that it was dependent upon who made the reservation. I don't know if that's the real reason, but it matched our situation-- I made the ressie. Who knows??

Just us - I wish Disney would knock this off.....

We HAVE APs. We are DVC owners. But those stupid machines have gone from "GO/NOGO" to an XMAS light display. This is a security device - not a 1963 light show.

All personal opinion - I'm not necessarily right, no one else is necessarily wrong.

As many other have stated, it is the band not the status. We have the DVC bands. Have gotten purple instead of green since the purchase. My DW does not have her own MDE and I have never activated her as a member on line.

I can safely assume if a non DVC member purchased the DVC bands, they too would see purple instead of green.

This is not entirely correct. DVC Members with any non Limited Edition (LE) MagicBand should get the Purple to Green color scheme.

I can safely assume if a non DVC member purchased the DVC bands, they too would see purple instead of green.

The DVC LE MagicBands along with all other LE MagicBands each have a effects at the touch points.

Both trips for me this year had the same issue (as recently as Nov). It worked for my wife but not me. We both are on the deeds, both have MDE accounts, both have MDE correctly affiliated with VC, both have APs, and I booked the trips and made the AP purchase.

Here is a question, does this only work for direct buyers or does resale also trigger the purple. I was there for Thanksgiving and none of my party flashed purple at any entrance. Not a big deal to me just wondering if this is another perk we resale purchasers do not get.

It seems to be somewhat random. On our recent trip (11/28 - 12/6), I got the purple occasionally, but not always. My DH never got it. He is primary, I am not. We both have Member logins, although he never logs in as I am the one who manages the account.

I only received purple at the International Gateway entrance during our 12/16 - 12/23 trip.

I've gotten magenta, purple and green at different times.

Blue is bad. As long as it doesn't turn blue, you're good.

We've been here 3 days so far and all we've gotten is green. No purple for any of us...

I don't even notice what color I've ever gotten-as long as it's not blue.
