DVC Just Loaded In My New Points And..

I'm missing some stuff.

Today is the first day DVC loaded into the system the new 50 pt. resale add-on I just purchased, giving us a total of 170 points. It's the same resort and same use year as my other contract, so I asked them to be combined.

Looking it over there's tons of strange stuff going on. Maybe they just didn't finish loading everything in properly. Anyways, a couple of the problems I'll be calling on:

1. The new contract is listed as the same contract number, but with a .1 behind it. When I look at it, there are 50 points for every year, but none of them are available. Fine, maybe they've been added to my original contract.

2. Well, it says I have 170 available for 2010, but only indicates 120 (my original points) are available for use.

3. The 20 points I banked from 09 to 10 are now gone.

4. There were 8 points from the new contract that were banked and those are also gone.

Hopefully with a quick phone call to member services tomorrow I can fix it.

Give it a day or two. I'm assuming you bought resale. It seems as if they are in the process of putting the new contract in the system. The same happened to me when I bought a resale add-on. In a few days everything was where it was supposed to be.

Except for the banked points. There's no reason why those should be messed up.

Just so you know, the contracts, even when they are under the same membership #, do not combine and morph in to one big contract.

Because they are the same resort and UY, they will function as one big contract (ie: that is why you see 170 points total for 2010) in that you can combine the points with no issues, but it doesn't change the fact that you own two contracts.

That is one of the reasons you see the .1 added to it. I have two for BLT, 130 and 50. My main screen shows totals for both but when I click on each individual contract, I only see the points for that specific one.

I am sure that right now, they are adjusting the points for your add on and that is why some seem missing. As PP said, give it a few days and if it is still not correct, then give them a call!

Congratulations!!

So glad to read this thread.
We purchased a second contract through resale (our first was resale too) and saw today it looked like they were up on my DVC account (it was our account number with .1) and showed how many points we purchased but I didn't see my 2009 new contract points listed.
It says 0 points for 2010 and 0 available for 2011.
I called MS and they told me it can take a few weeks for it to be posted and used but when I purchased the first time, from the day we closed it took 3 days for my account to be activied and let me use my points :confused3
Today will make it a week since we closed.
My new 09 points need to be deposited by end of next month so I want to make sure I get it all straighted out so not to loose them although we will be using for a cruise and probably not going to deposit but want it straighted out.
Thanks for posting. I guess we are all in the same boat.

Still the same for me.
Will call tomorrow if still not fixed.
How about you OP?

OP, did you get it straightened out?
I have been on the phone for over 15 minutes with MS this morning nand Member Administration who sent me back to MS to try to get my contract straighted out.

It's still wrong on the website as of this morning.

Tell me if your successful and what they say.

Thanks

Lugnut, I just went onto my account and all is now correct. But it did take almost 45 minutes. I would suggest you call and stay on until it is done.

I was on the phone with MS, who sent me to Member Administration, who sent me back to MS and then MS told me they would send me to a supervisor and I wasn't sent just waited on hold but the woman in MS came back on and told me she spoke to the supervisor who told her my points would be available and listed within the hour.

At first they told me it could take weeks and if this was my first time buying resale, I would have maybe understood but the last contract I purchased it was 2 or 3 days until my points were available, not almost 2 weeks.

I told them I needed my new contract points to show soon since I needed all points from both contracts to make a reservation. That is when the girl from MS told me the supervisor would have them done within the hour.

I was worried they would just somehow not appear and any points for 2009 needed to be banked by end of next month for me but I'll be using them before that can happen LOL

Please let me know how you make out and thanks for starting the post.

Welcome to the world of Member Services. You would think that they would have it down by now.

I have learned from experience it is very important that you double check your reservations and points after each MS contact.

:) Bill

It wouldn't have had me worried if I didn't have my first contract that I purchased also resale and everything went smoothly and once closed it really took no longer than 3 days (although I think it was 2) for the points to appear and ready for me to use.

Having MS tell me the other day and today that it can take weeks, just didn't sound right especially since I could see on my online account on DVC that I had a second contract and it listed how many points I purchased but showing nothing was available.

I am very glad I got it worked out today since the longer I waited I could see it being a problem.

So, I just let it go to see if things would correct themselves, and lo and behold, today I have all the correct points. Didn't have to call or anything. Everything is good.

So what did we learn? That it does indeed take a couple of days to get it right when DVC is adding a second contract onto your account.

I've bought 2 resales now. They are all the same use year and same title registration.

The first contract was added to my existing membership perfectly. It used the same membership and existing contract number (just with a different suffix). All the points, including banked ones, were properly showing in my account.

The second resale was a little less smooth of a transaction.
Again, same use year but DVC decided to create a whole new membership account for me. I worked with the resale agent to get this all straightened out. It took awhile but did finally get it added to my original membership. Funny thing is that DVC's reason for the problem was "there are several with that name" in the database. That may be true but how many of them have my SSN and used my membership number that was listed on the resale paperwork?
:confused3

Conclusion here is that if you don't see it correctly listed in the member website, notify your resale agent or DVC directly.

After reading this, I went to DVC page to look at my account.

I was in AKV, 1 bedroom SV from 2-4 through 2-8. In the vacation details, it says this:

6) Arrival Date 02.04.2010 Departure Date 02.08.2010 Resort / Experience Disney's Animal Kingdom Villas - Kidani Village Accommodation 1 BR Savanna View Kidani Reservation Number Vacation Points Used 201 †

Notice the points used???

It should be 146.

I cannot make heads or tails out of the activity statement.....what do you think? Should I be concerned? I know my reservation had the correct points on it, this is the first time I have seen any type of error.

Are your remaining points correct? If so then I wouldn't worry about it. I've had incorrect numbers of points for a past stay show up as well but my points available have been ok.

same here. I had an hour of panic last year before I realized the points left in my acct were correct.

Sorry to hijack this thread but I have a related question. I understand adding a second contract with the same UY results in a contract number XXXXX.1. What if the second contract is the same UY but a different resort? Will it be contract number XXXXX.1 or a new contract number? TIA.

Normally it will be xxxxxxxxx.1 for your second contract (your MASTER [first one for the Memebership #] is xxxxxxxxx.0) regardless of which home resorts the contracts are for.

However, I know that if you start paperwork and then have things re-written that number will get skipped. Specifically, my master is at BLT, so "#.0". I started a 40 point add-on at VGC, but then incentives came out before I signed and I had it re-written to a 50 pointer. The 50 point contract is xxxxxxxxx.2, and my AKV is xxxxxxxxx.3, and my (new) VWL is xxxxxxxxx.4. Despite never selling anything and always buying direct from Disney, I do NOT have a xxxxxxxxx.1 contract! But that is the exception, not the rule as far as I know... :upsidedow
