We have always purchased DVC Annual Insurance thru Travelex on the same day we pay Member dues so the pre existing condition clause is waived. I usually do it by phone thru DVC member services, but to save time I want to do it on line. Is it now $121 for year? Last year it was $99.00 for year.
Thank you for any information you can provide!

It's been $99 for quite some time now. I paid that price last year and wondered why it wasn't more. IMO another $22 for peace of mind is a small price to pay, especially with pre existing.

Enjoy your trip!

I did it online - it was $121. Make sure you put in your correct use year, and there is an "Agent" blank that I think is DVCWEB.
otherwise they email you the docs once you pay

Can you help me understand the “pre-existing condition clause”? And am I correct in understanding, it only covers the maintenance fees on the points for a claim? Thank you!!

No, there is medical reimbursement, trip interruption, baggage reimbursements etc attached to the DVC insurance. Well worth it!

Bumping this thread: Travelex is asking for my contract number. I have multiple contracts (small points) all in the same use year. I use them all to book. Do I need to insure EACH contract, or just 1 use year? I thought in the past it was just the 1 use year? Or are they really asking for my Member ID?

Has anyone had to use this and actually gotten their money back? I would be interested in an honest travel insurance company that doesnt play games and honors their policy without jumping thru a million hoops to try to disqualify

I asked MS this question a couple of years ago while purchasing by phone, and they said to use the contract number without the suffix (.#). All three of ours have the same base contract number.

It's purchased by membership. So if all of your contracts fall under a single membership, you only have to purchase once per UY.

This is super helpful; thank you!

I'd also be interested in this. I'm always hesitant to buy any travel insurance. I did decide to add Disney's trip protection to my recent cruise booking, but I actually didn't care about any of the insurance coverage - I thought Disney's 75% credit for cancel any reason made it worth it since the cruise otherwise becomes nonrefundable 120 days out from your sailing. The rest was just bonus to me.

In my experience, insurance companies tend to be wonderful places to do business with until . . . . you ask them to pay a claim.

The two times ive had travel insurance they refused to pay so im pretty pessimistic. The tour companies reimbursed me anyways so my thought has been its really not necessary because if something major happens, a reputable company will refund. But if anyone has had any type of travel insurance that has paid anything, id be interested to hear 🤣
