I am already thinking about planning our trip for 08, and I wanted to go in May, but my youngest sister graduates from high school, so we're going to go the first week of June, I think. I'm wondering--how hard is it to switch from your home resort to other resorts at the 7 month mark for that time? Are the resorts usually really booked? Does anything special happen in June at WDW or at DVC? Are the parks crowded and how is the weather? I'm not sure which other resort we'll want to stay at, but SSR is our home resort(or will be as soon as we close in a few weeks) and we are staying there this year, so I thought we might like to try a different one next year. Any help/advice would be appreciated!:thumbsup2

Do know that there were studios available last week in June at different resorts when I checked Monday.

That is exactly the time we go every year, I would venture to say that you will have an excellent chance to get what you want at the 7 month mark. The only three I can think of off the top of my head which may be difficult...(and I will rank order from most difficult to get to least because I have extra time on my hands) are #1 -BW GV (almost no chance), #2- OKW GV(slim to none), and #3- a tie between BW Std. and BCV 2BR w/two queens.

We've gone the first week of June several times (and have another trip planned for this June) and have never had any problems.

gay days are May 29 to June 4 - before you go any of these days - please read what the webmaster Pete has to say
http://www.wdwinfo.com/disney-gay-days.htm

now after june 5 there might still be some around - but hopefully better behaved.

Please remember that page contains someone's opinion.

I have seen mostly fans of Disney enjoying the parks those days although I do see a few people that don't act in the Disney style , but I can see that ( and have ) any other time of the year.

I've been going the first Sunday of June every year with my whole family for a week and never had any problems in either getting a place to stay or with "gay days" which is usually ending when we get there that Sunday.

We book at 11mo window at our home resort with the most points BCV, then change at 7 mo to OKW because we can stay an extra day for less points and I've never had to waitlist and the resort has never felt like it was full, nor the parks for that matter.

At 7 months out booking first week of June what you will more than likely find is that OKW and SSR will be readily available, and BWV preferred non-boardwalk view will also be available. BWV standard and preferred boardwalk view will likely be very difficult, and VWL and BCV will also be difficult but it will be mainly the luck of the draw. Weather is usually hot with warm evenings, and good chance of some showers daily. As to whether parks are "crowded" it depends on what you are comparing it to. Not a true off-season but also not a very high, stiffling season. Gay day activities usually target a park per day and thus you may want to check that gay day site noted above to plan to work around that schedule.

We were able to make the move at the 7 mo mark last June. We had booked at BWV (one of our home resorts) at 11 mo and moved the reservation to BCV at the 7 mo mark. I was amazed. We had been trying to stay at BCV for quite a while and it never worked out. We did have a 2 br as my parents were traveling with us. I think it's just the luck of the draw and probably has a bit to do with the size accomodations you need. Good luck! The crowd level was very manageable (we were there June 4-8). The weather was warm -- mid 80's. Week after we left there was a lot of rain but our weather was great! We had a great time and are planning to go again in June '08. See you there?
