DVC in Anaheim

Is there a sticky or an ongoing post with current information for the DVC in Anaheim?

We go to DL every year. We looked into DVC 6 years ago but decided not to buy since there wasn't a DVC resort at DL. I've been hoping and praying for 6 years for a Grand Californian DVC. I remember doing the happy dance when I read the announcement last year.


I know we probably don't stand a chance since current DVC members will have first choice, but I'm still keeping all my fingers and toes crossed that we might get one. You can always dream, right??

If you buy into AKV (or SSR, if still available) now through a Guide based in California, you'll get a 2-week priority period to add-on at the Grand Californian. Also noteworthy is the fact that DVC is selling 100-point contracts now. If you think you might be able to use 100 points at a Walt Disney World resort (bank & borrow to have 300 every 3 years, use them for non-DVC destinations, book weekends at the Grand Californian), that's an option to consider.

I doubt they will be completely sold out during that 2-week period, but you'll want to keep your ears open to make sure you don't miss out. They could, conceivably, sell-out the entire resort in under 2 months.

Just rumors suggesting sometime later this year. I don't think DVC has decided yet.

There is no specific date in the paperwork. I've add-on recently through DL and our paperwork did not include a specific date just that we would be able to purchase prior to the rest of the DVC membership and general public.
