DVC - I finally stayed at them all

It has taken me 6 years, but I officially have completed my 7-Peat (8-Peat if you count AKL) by staying in every DVC property.

How many others have done this?

I loved them all and each one is fantastic and there are no bad ones (like the other timeshare world).

My review list would take many pages, so here is an abbreviated one

OKW - great large rooms, quiet, the original
BWV - one of my favorites with the best location
VWL - great location next to the MK and wonderful Christmas displays
BCV - it's the pool....duh
SSR - the newest, getting better with age, great for DTD
VB - nice relaxing beach spot, I want to stay in the 3BDR cottages
HHI - much better that I expected and great theming and layout
AKL - I stayed the hotel several times and I am looking forward to the DVC

In 13 days I check into SSR, the last of the current DVC resorts for me to try and I am tickled about it!

So far only one DVC resort hasnt done 'it' for me and that was Vero, but I am willing to give it another chance in a few years.

My June trip will be at VWL and BCV. My Sept. trip will be at AKV. After that I will have tried all of the DW DVC's. I want to try HH and VB but I think that will have to wait a few years.

I haven't stayed in HH yet and I am working on that!! FYI last Thanksgiving I did stay in the 3 bedroom cottage, totally worth the points!!!! My absolute favorite is Vero and I am going back in June (after Disney of course) .

We have only stayed at VWL, VB, and HH (also AKL).
With that said, we have walked through them all and had a beer. Does that count?

I've stayed in all 7 DVC resorts, but have never stayed at AKL. That will change late this year with a stay at AKV.

My current goal is to visit all 11 Disney parks. 9 down, 2 to go!

I've stayed at 6 of the 7, the only one I haven't been to is Vero Beach. We love HHI, and just haven't wanted to go to Vero yet. As of 1/2005, I'd stayed at the other 6, after I stayed at SSR. They're different from each other, so it's really hard to compare. And in September, I hope to be able to add AKV to my "been there, tried that" list.

How cool!! We've stayed at VWL, OKW, and HH. Our home resort is OKW. Right now with a baby, we're probably going to stick with OKW. Once she's older, we'd love to try BWV or BCV. When we did VWL, we did 2 nights there, then the rest at OKW. I guess I'm a bit of a stick in the mud, and don't want to "risk" an entire stay at a new resort.

Did you stay at the "new" places your entire vacation?

I haven't tried them all yet as far as staying, but I have tried more than a few, and I have a strong perference for my "home"! It remains to be seen what I will think of my new home, but if it's anything like staying the original lodge, it will be great!

I agree Sammie. The DW and I stayed at AKL last year and didn't really enjoy it too much. Will most likely avoid AKV due to our rather lack-luster stay at AKL.

I'm working toward that goal... Get to scratch BCV off the list this year..

Only ones left are VWL, SSR, and AKV (though I've stayed at AKL two times)

We did it in 2005, with our 15 night stay at SSR. With the exception of HHIR, we have stayed at all of them more than once. We have stayed at OKW the most often. We will try a short stay at the AKV when that opens, but we are no fans of the AKL. We will wait for the DVC building to be finished before we do try AKV because based on the floor plans I have seen, IMO the retrofits will not be up to what we have become accustomed to as DVC members (though I'm really hoping Disney proves me wrong on that one).

I have stayed in al but HH (currently booked for this 4th of July!), but only BWV as a member. Somehow, I stayed in each resort before buying! My favorite? Probably Vero Beach, but I am really a beach guy. Honestly, if I was grading the resorts, all would get good marks. Not that anyone asked, but I would grade them as follows:

1) Vero Beach 97. I love the direct beach access.
tie 2) Beach Club Villas 96. SAB can't be beat.
tie 2) OKW 96. Huge rooms, and you can park right outside your door.
3) SSR 95. Best access to DTD, nearly as convenient parking as OKW.
4) VWL 94. Would be my favorite resort at WDW with a little more convenient transport or car access.
3) BWV 93. Might move all the way up to number 2 for me with some newer furnishings.

That is my goal too! We have already stayed at OKW, VB, SSR and VWL and will be able to add BCV to that list in June. Then we will only have BWV, AKV and HH left.
