DVC Hot Tubs eat/attack Women's Bathing Suits - thanks for the useful info!

Just as a follow-up, the person cutting the fabric for DW confirmed all the points on this post that it would be the hot tub combination of heat and chemicals that would literally melt and weaken the fabric fibres causing the bathing suit to fall apart over time. She said what many here have said - have a "cheaper" suit made of durable material for the hot tub.

Happy New Year to all and especially to the moderator(s) who cleaned up the bunzbunz debris that was on this post

thanks

More durable? Definitely available, but hardly cheaper.

I take a water aerobics class at the Y (two hours a week in the pool) and if I buy the regular spandex bathing suits I go through about 1 a month (unless I want to be wearing a see through bathing suit) due to the chemicals they put in the pool. I'm sure if I used the hot tub too the heat would break it down even quicker.

The polyester suits I now buy range around $100 give or take but they last. I have one that's going on 4 months now, but I'm sure I'll need to replace it soon.

Lands End sold one last spring for about $65, but it's not available right now. I'm hoping they'll bring it back next spring.

Lands End make the absolute BEST women's bathing suits out there in my opinion. You can get a catalog that is swimsuits only. I like how they have separates so you can order a different size top and bottom. I have one that has lasted two years and still looks great. I take the girls to the neighborhood pool everyday it is sunny in the summer. Oldest is a fish. This one has a tank top and I ordered the swim skirt with panty attached on bottom. It doesn't float up and it looks classic. I've got many compliments on it. Lands End also has soem really cute swimsuits with the shorts attached. I think thsoe are wonderful. They coem in all sizes including a woman's size cataolg I believe can also be ordered, plus swimsuits for those who have had breast cancer. Sears now carries a limited line of their swimsuits in their stores.

I'm now done with my commercial! LOL ;)

Sam's Club has the Speedo 2 pc. Tankini's up to size 16 for $19.98. Lots of different solid colors and prints. I saw these yesterday 1/2/04 at our local club.

May be a good second suit for hot tubs.
