Could anyone outline for me what discounts/benefits we have as DVC members at the WDW courses?

Up to 35% on all Disney golf courses. If you purchase a PAP, you can play Disney's Oak trail anytime.

DVC member plus up to three others in the same group as the DVC member can get a discount at the three 18 hole courses, Lake Buena Vista, Magnolia and Palm. You can reserve times now up to 60 days in advance (that is the same for regular rate guests). Discount has lately been about 28% off the rate charged Disney resort quests. Since last Oct it has been $69 a round and that will continue through at least May. The resort guest rate is $95. What has happened in the last two years is that the DVC rate has remained in that $69 range, while they have been doing away with most of the seasonal changes in regular rates and lowering the rates for peak seasons, e.g., you no longer have super high regular rates (like above $130 a round) mid-Jan through April but instead the regular rates are in the $95 range.

There is also a discount rate for the nine hole executive course, Oak Trail, which is $20 a round.

Another great benefit of being a DVC member is a $20 lesson on Thursday or Friday mornings. On Thursday the lesson is the long game and Friday is the short game. The lessons are at LBV at 9 am. It is a group lesson but many times there are only 4-5 people signed up. I had a lesson session for my 2 DS who were the only members in the class.

I can't remember if club rentals are discounted for DVC members. If you take a lesson then play, there is only one rental fee for the whole day. If there was a discount, it was only 10% or so. Also, another perk is a taxi. If you play at WDW, you get transportation to and from the golf course via taxi or shuttle.

Call 407-939-4653 Disney golf and ask for Lake Buena Vista pro shop. They can sign you up for a lesson and answer the questions about the clubs. I think the clubs this year are Taylormade Speedblades and Jet speed drivers. Golfwdw has more info, too.

Lesson sessions are great.

There is currently no discount on club rental if using DVC member rate for golf but check when you call to make time and when you arrive because that can change at any time for a limited time

Thanks for all the great info. I was quoted the DVC rate of $69 per round, plus the Sales tax. Club rental was $20.

I am very interested in the lessons. I may check into that. God knows I need them.

Thanks again.

Another golf question. Now that Arnold runs the golf courses can you still charge the fee to your resort?

I want to use some credit card reward points. If it shows up under our hotel resort charge, it is covered by points.

If you do the lession session do you have to rent clubs or is it included in the lesson if that is the only thing you are doing? I can see my DH doing this but you really only need a club or two and not the whole bag.

The courses accept charges to room and Disney Visa reward cards.
