DVC going into the Contemporary

Spoke with a Manager while at Chef's Mickey's asked him about the big rumor is DVC building at the Contemporary. He said yes they would be opening in about 2 years. I am personally excited. I would love to stay at a villa on the monorail.

Lets not forget how much free marketing Disney got over the billboard that was suppose to announce something exciting about DVC. Boy was that a big let down. People at Disney are very smart. They know that they can just speculate about something and they will get a lot of free marketing on all of the boards.

Okay everybody...here's what's really going to happen in the next phase of DVC: As the thousands of travel trailers purchased by FEMA for those getting back on their feet from Katrina are being vacated, DVC is purchasing them for pennies on the dollar and they will become DVC's MEV (Mobile Estate Villas). Since there is a demand for villas at AKL, CR, etc., MEV home resort members booking in the 11 mo. window will be able to select which resort parking lot they would like their unit moved to. Members booking at the 7 mo. window will have to take whatever parking lot has space available (overflow will use the old runway). As more units become available, they will be sent to DLR to enhance the west coast DVC experience. The Year of A Million Dreams...and A Million Miles!

(Hope no one is offended by the Katrina remarks -- this was all meant in fun and I truly do wish the best for anyone affected by the tragedy!)
