Called MS today just to check our waitlist for the 1 day we have left to get at BWV (July 3) and there wasn't anything, I know long shot,.

However inquired if there was anything else Studio, 1bedroom so on...And was told there was nothing at all at any DVC available for July 3rd, all were booked solid!
Sounds like Disney's best kept secret is definately out! Glad we have that studio reserved at SSR.....

Last year we were able to book the week of July 4th at SSR(one bedroom for 4 nights starting July 2, I think) at the beginning of June. Maybe something will open up once you get closer to that 31 day out mark.

Though I do think it's odd--we are really bad about deciding to go to WDW at the last minute(less than a month out) and haven't had a problem getting a room somewhere on property---until this year. Our spring break didn't even land on Easter this year but we really had to juggle around to get any nights at DVC(wound up spending one night at Contemporary). We hadn't planned on going Spring Break but wound up getting taxes back(thought we'd have to pay), so we decided to get one last use out of our AP's and go, but we almost didn't get to!

There were SSR studios available 2 weeks ago, and 1 bedrooms available last week. The wait list isn't that long.

We booked BWV for early November, but didn't have enough points to include the Saturday night. We figured that it would be last to go, because it was so many points, and that we could use our VWL points for it at the seven month point. Nope! All full -- BCV and AKL were full too... we ended up using our VWL points at....VWL for that one night.

Luckily, the waiting list came through for that one night at the BWV.

I also wonder if people are extending their stays around the 4th with it being a friday.

We normally are out by the 2nd but this year we are doing 12 days from the 30th to the 11th. At the 7 month mark I had a bunch of choices and wanted to do a split stay. I took PV BWV from the 30th-5th and SV AKV for the rest .

It seems like it will be a madhouse but thats fine and we can't wait.

I'm a FL resident, with the FL resident seasonal pass which is blacked out for the summer. However, since 4th of July is a weekend, I might as well chill out at WDW rather than at home. I booked SSR at the 7 month window for 7/3-5, going home Sunday. I do have access to Comedy Warehouse, and enjoy that, so I'll spend evenings there and days by the SSR pool....enjoying dining in the Downtown Disney area as well.

So, in addition to people enjoying a long weekend to go to the parks, there are also people like me who use WDW as a resort (and the heck with the parks) on a holiday weekend.

We originally booked at SSR in March and had no problems at all but the the DS's 15 and 11 and the DW "requested" a change to BWV's we were able to get a few days there right away but had to waitlist half as well. All came thru pretty quick except July 3rd, been holdin for a month now for that 1 day still have faith tho have little over a month to go we still have the SSR ressie but what a pain check in June 28 @ BWV check out July 3rd recheck in @ SSR on 3rd check out on 4th recheck in BWV for night of the 4th leave on the 5th. UGH...

We booked the 3rd and on back at the beginning of March and they had OKW, SSS, and BWV available for studios still. Then I added a day three weeks ago and got it.
