DVC free internet-has it started yet?

No...not free yet. We didn't read our Disneyphiles close enough...assumed it was free because we were DVC and ended up being charged 50 buck. It was our own fault....but it is not free yet!

How did you ended up being charged- i just came back from SSR- and as soon as you open your IE, it ask you to connect for $9.95 for 24hr. :confused3

i will be checking in at ssr on sunday march 30 i will have my laptop with me. i have a wireless modem so i don't have to worry about hot spots or plunging my computer into the hotel network. if they charge for internet services this will be my back up service.

My wireless didn't pick up anything when i was in my room...:confused3

Iphones plug into the internet via a cable? I thought Iphone access was wireless via ATT?

It is wireless but I assumed that I was charged because I used the internet. I did not uses any cables and did not even bring a computer. I may give them a call and see why I was charged. The charge appeared for the day that I used my iphone so I thought that was why I was being charged.

I don't believe SSR even has a wireless network. The iPhone shouldn't have had anything to pick up there.

Did the bill actually say the charge was for internet access? If so, and you never physically connected a computer or similar device to the jack, I believe you were charged in error.

Yes, the bill states $9.95 for internet access Saratoga and list my room charge #. The date matches the date I used my iphone to check something on the internet.

At BWV there was a wireless network for $9.95. I did not use it, but it did show up on my computer as available. Sorry I don't remember the name of the network.

Is it free for just DVC Members or for those renting as well?

What posts I've seen suggest that if the room is booked on points the internet will be free.

I discussed this with a Manager in the DVC Satisfaction Team a couple of weeks ago. The internet is free for Members or Guests staying on points at the DVC Resorts at WDW. Cash Guests still pay.

A friend of mine tells me that inbound II exchangers also pay.

Inbounds who happen to also be Members may or may not; she is not a Member.
