DVC Firsts - BCV, MNSSHP, '09 Members Cruise, Kidani

I know it has been a really long time since I have posted. Sorry about that. Happy New Year to all. I hope it has been a good one thus far. We have had a snowy year thus far. We just had a blizzard this past weekend and we are expecting more snow on Tuesday. How I miss Castaway Cay!

When I last left out, we had just arrived at Kidani. I took plenty of pictures. We were all tired from getting up so early so I put DS down for a nap and decided to join him after I did a load of laundry. Once we all woke up, we went to DH's father's home. He lives in Tampa. It was a quick drive. We ate dinner there and chit chatted. It was a great and relaxing evening. Our drive back to WDW took longer than our drive to Tampa due to roadwork. Crews were shutting down two lanes. It was horrible but we finally made it back.

After a restful night's sleep, we were up and ready to go for our ADR at Boma. We took the bus to Jambo house and were seated right away. As always, breakfast at Boma was delicious.

And, the atmosphere was soothing. I love the decor.

After breakfast, we decided to explore the grounds of Jambo.

We ventured outside to get a little fresh air.

We could not pass up on the playground. In February, we only went to the playgroung at night. It was time to see it during the day.

So excited to see an update from you!! Had wondered where you were but figured it was holiday's and all. Hope yall are fairing well in all the snow! Love all the Kidani pics especially since we leave for the world on Thurs.

Love seeing your DS smiling and playing!

After walking the grounds, we went back inside to see if anything caught my eye. Some things did but I did not buy anything. There was a display that we found interesting.

Then we went into the Zawadi Marketplace and looked around.

After looking around, we caught the bus back to Kidani to get ready to go swimming. On the way back to the room, I had to take some ppictures.

AWESOME pictures of Kidani!!! I love all the details they have in the rooms. I see hidden Mickeys on the carpet! Ahhh is it April yet? You have me really excited now.
Are you going in April? How exciting!

WOW.WOW.WOW - - awesome pictures of Kidani!!! I can't believe all the little details that the designers created in the rooms. Just gorgeous! :goodvibes

I love the decor and the atmosphere. I cannot wait to go back. It is a gorgeous place.

That's great; I hope you have a fantastic time in September between the members' cruise and AKV.

Does Kidani have different savannas like Jambo House? If so, which view did you have?
I can't wait to go on the member's cruise in Sept. I am so looking forward to it especially after all of this snow.
Kidani has two savannahs - the Sunset & Pembe. I believe I was on the Pembe. We maily saw okapi.

You leave on Thurs.! I wish I had a trip coming up soon. I am glad I posted some more before you left. Have a fantastic trip!

After spending some time in the room doing laundry and relaxing, we headed to the pool. If I had not mentioned before this time, DS really enjoys the water and today was no different.
100_4450.jpg

I really liked the play area they had for the little ones. The pool and the weather were fantastic.

The pool was great too. DS did not want to venture down the big slide. I was happy that they had another slide that he thoroughly enjoyed.

DS did not want to leave. He was having a meltdown because we had to leave. A CM at the poolside bar, Maji, was so nice. He gave DS a Mickey bar so that he would stop crying. Thank you because that did the trick.

I have been reading and enjoying your trip report. I could not agree more about hating this snow we had and that continues to be everywhere. Makes me my Disney daydreamin obsession worse. Not to mention I just started grad school this semester too so I will just say "I feel your pain". :goodvibes

Did you enjoy the BCVs more over the AKVs? Curious because we are going to be buying into DVC and these are our 2 competing resorts. Thanks for the feedback!

Thank you for reading. I am glad you are enjoying the report.
We are partial to AKV. This is our home resort. We really like the decor, the atmosphere, waking up and seeing the animals. BCV has its advantages too. You are in walking distance to Epcot, a variety of restuarants, and the Boardwalk. However, AKV is our home and nothing beats home.

Yeah! just got home and kinda depressed. ;) Love all of the kidani pics since we will be there in july for my youngest sons Bday. I love all the pool pics! hope to be spending lots of time there in july since we only got one day in this trip. Can't wait for more!;)

Welcome back. How was your trip?

When we got back to the room we were definitely hungry. We decided to order a pizza. Boy was that an expensive pizza and wings. But, we thouroughly enjoyed it.

That night I finshed the laundry and packed. Our plan was to leave early in the next morning so we would make it back to MD the next evening. However, like in my first trip report, plans are made to be broken.

The next morning we left later than planned. I put sleep ahead of travel. We needed to be well rested. And, of course, before we left, I had to take some final pictures since I would not be seeing my resort for another year.

One last time out on the balcony.

Post the link so I can read and see pics. I live vicariously through other trip reports. I guess that is why I prolonged this one. I will have more posts - a wrap up of sorts.

Thanks for the Kidani pictures. We just came back at the end of Jan after a stay at Kidani and then our first 3n DCL. We loved it. We're now considering a member cruise for 2011.
This seems like a silly question, but were there a lot of kids on the cruise? Just wondering if because of the time in Sept, and it being a member cruise if there were fewer kids there. My kids will be 8, almost 6 and almost 3 in Sept of '11. They loved playing with the other kids in Jan, and would be bummed if the kids clubs weren't very full with others to play with.

Fabulous job, Marsha! :flower3: We have booked our December trip at Kidani and I'm really looking forward to it. I think DGD21mos will have a ball; she's so curious and interested in EVERYTHING (must pick up, touch, poke, pull, pat and/or taste anything she can).

In response to an earlier poster, we also spent time at BCV and at AKV (our home resort, too). I love both of them, but they're both wonderful for different reasons. I think if we added on, it would be at BCV. Or Hawaii :rotfl: . Yeah, right! (Although I do think if we ever got to Hawaii, it would be via DVC.)

Our trip in December was lovely. We especially loved the beautiful castle and the snow on Main St. We brought one of our twins w/us and she just enjoyed everything. It was a very good trip.

Are you going in April? How exciting!

Yep, it's just going to be me and my dad. I can't wait to stay at Kidani Village...we stayed at AKL a couple years ago and loved it. Thanks again for some awesome pictures! :thumbsup2

Hi everyone! I just wanted to provide an update. Here are some pictures of the different fish extender (FE) gifts we received.

This bag we received was great and was quite useful.

It is where we stored all of our FE gifts.
