DVC Fast Passes??

Ours were good for 4 days, up to 3 passes per card. What was nice was that even some attractions that were closed for the day still handed out FP's despite saying the opposite on the back of the card (TSMM being one that still gave out FP's but not ToT).

Is there anything else being offered for doing the tour?

Yeah, ice cream and a free family pic :lmao:

Although I'm not going to sneeze at the family pic since it was the only one with all 5 of us the entire time we were there :thumbsup2

I just read a thread in the DW boards (non-DVC) complaining about long lines and such and one poster opined that "Get a Day and Vacation Club fast passess" were adding to the Standby times. Does anyone know what they might be talking about?? I know what Get a Day is, but what are Vacation Club passes?:confused3

It has been explained well enough, so no comment on what they are...
but I can't help, I have to say that anyone who is frustrated and is tempted to buy into this theory is being silly.

There is simply no way, the impact of GAD or DVC FP's is minimal. Very few DVC FP's in a day spread out over 5 parks and xx amount of FP rides... GAD volunteers were limited and then they spread out their impact over multiple choices of things they could get (free ticket, etc.), and then they spread out their trips over months of park days (GAD pass only works one day at one park). To think that somehow there was some giant number of GAD FP's all at same resort on same day, trying to get on same ride makes no sense. Once again, relax and enjoy yourself... you are at Happiest Place On Earth, so enjoy. Yes, it's busy, yes the lines will be long, yes you may not get to do all you want.... so what? Relax and enjoy! :)

the original thread referred to is bubkus....

we got some of the DVC fastpasses because our referral credit to my inlaws was sent to the wrong people....our "guide" both hinted at it and didn't realize how good my hearing was when he talked about the screw up to somebody else in the hallway in their offices.

they didn't cop to the mistake so they basically had to re-issue it to the in-laws (costing them double) and then they gave us a couple of the fastpasses as an apology.

they're great...but it's not as if they are giving out tens of thousands of these things daily. i would venture that they are even less now (because of probably less tours) than four or five years ago when the country was cash-drunk and spend happy using fake credit to "buy" stuff....DVC at saratoga being a good expensive example.

but i think that assumption about DVC fastpasses jamming lines is on ground about as stable as the polar icesheets right now.

(as far as my situation...i didn't want or need the fastpasses...i just wanted the mistake to be admitted. but they couldn't do that and i have no tolerance for Disney BS...because i've been there and done that.)

Last August we were on some rides that broke down when we were on them (Jungle Cruise, BTMRR and Pirates). Broke down due to the heat. Each time we were given a fast pass good for a few days (I think) for any ride in MK to use at any time. Everybody who was on the ride at the the time received the fast passes. So, this could also add to the large lines in the fastpass lane. Just a thought. ;)

Just got back from a trip to the World. There was a special members event going on at BLT. We got to go to the Top of the World Lounge, got some tea sandwiches, chocolate covered cheesecake lollipops, played some disney trivia games and got small prizes, a goodie bag with a DVC portfolio folder, DVC trading pins, as well as the DVC fastpass cards.

The fastpass cards say on the back:
To receive you (yes typo) three disney's fastpass tickets please insert in disney's fastpass distribution turnstile.

Disney Vacation Club Fastpass Exchange Card
-Valid for 4 days after issue at the DVC Preview center.
-Valid for all WDW theme park fastpass attraction distribution areas excluding indiana jones epic stunt spectacular, voyage of the little mermaid, extreme stunt show, and the american idol experience.
-not valid at fastpass attractions where fp distribution has closed for the day.
-not valid for admission at any WDW theme park.
-no transferable.
-not for sale or resale
-void if altered.
-may not be redeemed for cash in whole or part.
(paragraph on everything being subject to change, etc.)

No fastpasses?

There are fastpasses. After you end the presentation, they give you the fastpasses and they send you to the ice cream parlor where you can eat ice cream and get a free pic :)

I agree here. If only 1,000,000 people got GAD to begin with, only a % will choose the FP option, and only a % of that will be at the parks spread over all of the FP attractions it can be used on. Same thing with DVC tour but at an even smaller %.
If you're in the stand-by line it always feels like everybody else and their aunt has a FP! :rotfl:

I agree that the special FPs are probably insignificant, but wanted to point out that the GAD redemption was for up to 6 FPs to cover your whole party. I got the pin set with my GAD, but we redeemed DW's for a total of 6 FP cards @ DHS: one each for her, myself, and all 4 of our parents who were also on the trip. Therefore, it isn't 1 million potential FP cards out there from GAD, but rather 5,999,994 (Adjusted down from 6 million since I know I didn't use GAD that way! ;)). Then your other small fractional adjustments start to apply... :lmao:

Just a question - when you take a tour how long does it last? Can you choose the property you want to see? We are staying at AKL. DO we tour there or someplace else?

The tours take place at the sales center, located at SSR. They have some full sized model rooms, and some small model sized mock-ups. They do not take you to browse at all the different DVC resorts.

Just be aware that you can only get Fast Passes if they are still available. If the Fast Passes are "sold out" at any attraction you will not be able to get any from the machine, even with the "immediate" passes.

Nope, not the case. You can ask the attendent at the ride to get you a fast pass if the regular daily ones have finished. we did this for 3 different rides during the evening. Got the instant fast passes without a problem.

While that may be true in practice, the FP you receive actually say the exact opposite. Someone just posted the text - either in this thread or another one - in the last few days. They say right on them - not for attractions that have run out of FPs for the day (or something similar). So while that may work, I wouldn't entirely count on it.
