I just read a thread in the DW boards (non-DVC) complaining about long lines and such and one poster opined that "Get a Day and Vacation Club fast passess" were adding to the Standby times. Does anyone know what they might be talking about?? I know what Get a Day is, but what are Vacation Club passes?:confused3

porbably for doing VACATION CLUB TOUR presentation , they give people a few passes?

Yes, 3 immediate FPs, good for any ride, are often offered to people who take the DVC tour. Ridiculous idea that there are enough of those out there to clog up the FP lines - that is just silly.

Give a Day, Get a Day - is this years promo, you volunteer for a day and receive a free park ticket and free fast passes or a free visa card. I believe Disney gave away 1,000,000 items to registered volunteers. They met the goal by March. And people can submit their GAD vouchers all year.

I guess if a lot of GAD vouchers are turned into the fast pass option on the same day it could affect the fast pass line, but I really think that more people are just using fast passes.

ARe the fast passes given at the DVC presentation only good for that day or could you use them the next day?

I think the ones we got back in 2008 (DW & I each got 2 [Bonus! :thumbsup2 Prob. only supposed to get 1...] with 3 FPs on each one) were good for 3 days after the tour; might have been a week. :confused3 Definitely DID expire eventually though; tried one a year later that should have had some FPs left on it and no-go. :sad2:

My understanding is that they are good on any one day. For instance, you could take the tour on Wednesday and use the FPs on Friday, but they would all need to be used on Friday, you could not use one on Wednesday, one on Thursday and one on Friday. Whatever day the card is first used, is when it has to be used.

Definately not the case. Ours were valid for 3 days for 3 Immediate Use Fast Passes (where the daily fast passes were not sold out). You could use one on one day and the other 2 on another, didn't matter.

For us, we received a total of 4 of these cards for a total of 12 Fast Passes for the two of us or in essence a total of 6 Fast Pass uses.

My wife and I were given some Fastpasses when we did the BLT tour back in March 2010. They were only good for up to three or four days after the tour but, if I remember correctly, they did not have to be used all on the same day. Last year, the Fastpasses that were given for the birthday celebration promotion had to be used on the same day they were issued.

When we took the tour in Oct, they gave all 4 of use an instant fastpass for 3, had to be used in 4 days from tour.

We got 12 instant fastpasses and rode TSM 3 times in a row. The kids loved it. It was their idea and really nothing else had a wait like it did.

In March our instant fastpasses from the BLT event had 3 passes per person and had to be used within 4 consecutive days of the tour.

Great! I loved to take the tour before we head to DHS but not have to rush around early morning. Thanks everyone!

Just be aware that you can only get Fast Passes if they are still available. If the Fast Passes are "sold out" at any attraction you will not be able to get any from the machine, even with the "immediate" passes.

This has not been our experience. TSM was sold out (July 2010) and we were able to get fast passes using the DVC issued card b/c they leave one machine open for "instant fastpasses". It is my understanding that GAD/DVC are the two fastpasses will work and last year the B-day promotion did as well.

We were able to use our BLT fast pass at TSM in this manner. The machine was roped off and labeled for Give a Day. We just asked the CM and he ran our fast passes through the one machine and gave them to us.

I stand corrected. However, when we were there last year we heard a few people complaining to the DVC reps in the parks & Wilderness Lodge lobby that they were unable to get Fast Passes at some attractions using the "instant" cards they got after their DVC tour. The DVC CM's all said it was probably because all the Fast Passes available were "sold out" for those attractions. I guess those CM's were wrong, or Disney changed their Fast Pass system.

My parents and I went to a DVC presentation at BLT and we each got a card with 3 FP available to us. It was really cool that we got those!

Perhaps everyone is right- there are limited attractions in the GAD FastPass program; maybe those people were trying to get FPs to attractions that weren't on that list after the regular FPs ran out? :confused3
