There are no costs beyond purchasing points, and maintenance fees(both of which for resale are different at each resort). If you're buying new/Direct, DVC lists the current price on their website.

Shout out for the most recent DVC Fan Show on point rental:
1) The World of DVC/ Rental Store has pretty amazing contract terms for owners of a point rental arrangement. Most impressive!

2) I had a *clutch my pearls* moment when Paul K. made a remark about DVCM stewardship. Like, woah. ... and Thank You.

3) The representatives from World of DVC are so professional. Last show and this one, they spoke to sensitive topics with diplomatic eloquence. Truth be told I was still *hanging onto my pearls* from earlier, and I didn't let go for a while.
