For those of you DVC members that frequent the Epcot resorts, do you feel like the proximity to Epcot and Studios gives you more freedom in your planning for these parks?

For instance, do you feel that it is no big deal if you would want to walk over to World Showcase no matter the crowd, simply because you can pop in and back out to your villa? I think it would be neat to head over to see Illuminations (provided that I don't elect to watch from a balcony).

What are your experiences with how these specific resorts may have changed your usual touring plans/style.

Are there any things that you still specifically avoid?

Definitely! We own at BCV and love the location because we may walk over to Epcot for dinner, or walk over just to spend some time walking around and if it's busier than we prefer, we will head back to our resort. Same thing for MGM, we like the walk and enjoy walking over just to do 1 or 2 things, like ride TOT or see a show.

For us, it is a combination of two things:

1. Staying at an EPCOT resort

2. Having an AP

With both of these we have frequently done just as you suggest...go visit EPCOT for Illuminations or a meal and then leave. Or go to the Studios for one more time on Tower of Terror. Things we might not do if we didn't have the proximity to the parks and the Annual Pass so we didn't feel like we were "burning" a day's admission.

When we've stayed at VWL or OKW, we don't tend to make short trips to the parks.

That's one reason we enjoy owning at VWL and BWV...we really do feel that it helps change up our vacations and helps avoid WDW burnout (heaven forbid!). :)

We love the location as well.....as far as planning, it does make it easier that you can walk to 2 parks or take a boat. Our family is rather young but we always walk to Epcot and MGM was a toss up. There were days when we would walk to Epcot, go on a few rides and then take the monorail over to WDW. Illuminations was another great thing...after when everyone is scrambling to the front of the park we would just slip out the back way and walk home, it is nice being close. Surprisingly our kids love Epcot so we do spent a lot of time there.

Last year we hit the Soarin's last ride and then the little ones had to go to the bathroom. By the time they finished up and we left the building with the inlaws the park was empty. It was a funny feeling being in Epcot by yourself except for the employees heading home that is. To this day we laugh because it seems my family is the last to leave no matter where we go, now we have Epcot under our belts. Least it was a quick walk back.

Like other posters have stated...We love to walk over to the World Showcase just for dinner.

Just got back yesterday from staying at BWV- we love walking to Epcot and MGM. Tried taking the boat back from MGM but it was a half hour wait instead of the promised 20 minutes so that idea was a bust. Walking is quicker.

I still love VWL and AKV, too. But for convenience. you can't beat BWV.

We own at BWV and love the accessability to Epcot (Our favorite park) and MGM. We also have AP so just visiting for a short time offers great flexability!

When I originally bought BWV, it never occurred to me that it was close to the parks. I was more interested that it was close to Stormalong Bay!;) Although I was stupid back then, I love that I can claim intelligence because Epcot and MGM are right nearby, and have turned out to be the best part of buying at BWV!:lmao:

Absolutely. We own at BWV and frankly have only been there 3 times since 1998, but the walk is soooo easy. I am sure just as easy from BCV. It is really cool to feel like you are staying IN WDW. Actually, you are.
