DVC entrance to DCA?

Hi-
we will be going to DL & DCA around Labor Day. We had heard that the entrance to DCA from the Grand Californian had been designated for DVC members only, is this true? Also, do you have to be staying as a DVC guest to take advantage of this perk? We are DVC members but staying offsite for this trip.
Our hope is to dart in asap and grab fastpasses for World Of Color. Is this the best entrance/plan for this?

The entrance from the Grand Californian is only for guests of the DLR hotels. You can be a guest by staying at one of the hotels or the Villas or by eating in one of the restaurants at DGC or shopping in the gift shop at GDC. If you are a hotel guest, you will need to show a current room key. Otherwise, you will need to show a recent receipt for a meal or purchase. By itself, your DVC membership card won't get you admission through this entrance. sorry -- Suzanne

The DCA entrance from GCH is for guests of the on-site resorts (DVC or non-DVC). As far as I know, they won't let an off-site DVC member use the gate.

The work around for this- have a nice pleasant breakfast at Storytellers. Show your receipt, and that should let you in through the back door. (I've never actually tried this, but others have reported that it works.)

Either that, or just get in line early at the main gate.

if you buy a drink a snack at WWS or anything from the lounge in GCH, save your reciepot so you can get back into DCA.. it worked for me!!

There was a rumor that they were going to build a private entrance to Paradise Pier for DCA people only but it is just a rumor.
