Hi,

Does anyone know if we get discounts on Disney cruise line as DVC members? If not is there a secret in getting a lower rate? I am pricing even short cruises and Disney is averaging $1,800 more than every other cruise line.

No discounts. Book early for a better rate. I'm sure there's some other tips as well, but I haven't cruised yet (going in Jan 2010). Disney is higher than other cruise lines.

And that's paying with cash. Don't even consider trying to pay with points.

They give some nice freebies though for being a member. I just returned from the 1/24 Magic and was surprised to get a nice book (a cruise keepsake journal if you will), two magnets on my stateroom door saying I was a member, invite to the member mixer (given several hats and won a DVC blanket), several lanyards, and a free lanyard magnet. I like recognition like that. (I paid with cash.)

Does anyone know if you can pay cash for the DVC cruise and when is that usually, in september? Thanks.

Hello,

We use our points for crusing... it is our favorite way to travel and is still a bargain.. Trust me, my tax attorney husband wouldn't do it if it wasn't a deal. He also buys more points when we are on ship to get better deals.

:)
