There are many factors to consider. Ages of each? And I'm not sure what Category stateroom holds 5 people? But for an example...

October sailings in 2007. CAtegory 4 - Deluxe Family Stateroom w/ Verandah. First 2 adults is 220 pts each. 3rd and 4th adults is 91 pts each. Extra children (6-12) are 83 pts each. Extra children 3-5 yrs old are 81 pts each, and extra kids under 3 are 18 pts each. It doesn't tell me if this category will sleep 5 though - though the cruise line page will tell you that.

You can do a combination of points for some people and cash for others within your party size. We are cruising in January with 2 adults on points and paid cash for our kids.

You'll find very few recommendations that this is a good value for your points, but YOU own them, so make your own decisions.

Hi

Thanks. I looked on disney cruise line and it only gave me price in dollars and not points or part points. I will have another look.

Generally DCL cruises are not a good value when using points. Renting ro transferring points and using the cash to pay cash for the cruise would be more economical for you. I believe I was told that the entire reservation had to be in either points or cash so you would have to have enough points for your entire family.

You won't be able to see any points stuff on the cruiseline website. You can see what Category Rooms are each like and how many they can each sleep though. You should go their to see what Category room will accept your party size.

We are cruising in January and we have 2 adults on points and paid the cash rate for the 2 children. I do believe that you can do a combination - but Member Services would probably need to confirm that.

Only one person per cabin has to pay with points - that person is charged the adult point rate. Anyone else in the cabin may pay cash. However, the first two people in the cabin pay the adult rate (whether it is cash or points).

The cash rate is the one negotiated by DVC with DCL - it may be more or less than the cash rate currently being charged by a TA or the DCL.

Best wishes -

ANd and FYI about 5 in a stateroom. You will need a Category 4...or a suite (categories 1 - 3), which are big bucks and even bigger points. It is cheaper to get two connecting category 9s or 10s than 1 category 4. And you get much more space in 2 10's.

As others have said, it is not cost-effective to cruise on points.
