DVC Discounts question

I believe as DVC members we can receive a discount at Shutters in Vero Disney. Do we have to be staying at Vero Disney to take advantage of this discount?

We will be staying at my SIL's condo, directly across the street from Vero Disney, in April. We are going to have dinner at Shutters one night and I am not sure if we can still use the discount.

Since it is a weekend, I can't call MS (and I would rather ask all of you anyway )

Currently the dining discount at Vero Beach is 10% off at Sonya's on Wednesdays, which is member day with alcoholic beverages excluded. There is also a $1 off specialty drinks in the Green Cabin room. You can check Member Perks at www.disneyvacationclub.com in the member benefits section under member perks.

I have never heard of a DVC discount at Shutters.

If there is a DVC member discount at Shutters, it wasn't listed on the "Special Member Privileges" flyer we received at check in this past December. That flyer did list the 10% discount at Sonya's as described above by Judique.

The flyer said to receive the member discount you must prsent your Member ID card or your resort ID key card that states "Disney Vacation Club member" at that location. My assumption is that means you do not have to be staying at the resort to receive the discount.

My advice is to call the resort before you go and ask. That way you will be sure.

Oops, I guess I had the wrong restaurant name. I have never been there, I was going by my SIL info.

Sonya's is a wonderful restaurant. I would definately give it a try.

You can order off the Shutter's menu in Sonya's but I don't know if they would still give you the discount.

But you do not have to be staying there to get teh DVC discount from what I'm told. A good tidbit is that Sonya's and Shutters share a kitchen. You can order from either menu from either location.
