Noticed last week that the DVC discount was being taken automatically when you use your room card to pay for your meal - at least at Spoodle's for breakfast and at DisneyQuest (Cheesecake Factory). We did not show our card and I didn't even mention it, but the discount was taken off of our final bill. It was not taken at Cap'n Jack's, but we may have been past the lunch cut-off (it was about 4 PM when we dined there).

How NICE to not have to remember which places give discounts and to have to ask for it! :Pinkbounc

Always nice to get a discount - but, call me paranoid :crazy2: ...another example of big brother; biometric finger scans probably next (ala MYW tix).

Privacy issues/personal freedom aside, the last place I want tracked is on vacation. Although I pay extra each month for an unlisted, unpublished phone number; when I made a call today to a large manufacturer regarding a product recall - they had alot of personal information based on my number (this without ever having sent in a warranty card). :confused3

Oh good, I am not alone in my paranoia!

Actually, you might have just had an aware and helpful waiter who saw "DVC Member" on your room key and so added the discount for you. I'm not sure I would count on it being added automatically.
