DVC discount for cash reservations?

How does this work? For example is it along the lines of the home resort priority. I can book the discount at SSR from 11-8 months than anywhere else at 7 months?

Or is it just whenever I call and say I want such and such at this time.

Do they have a lot of availibility?

The only time we've used a member cash rate is in conjunction with a points ressie so I just add it on when I book on points. Have never not rec'd that rate. Maybe just lucky???

I would think that avaiability would depend on which resort you were trying to get.
