I just checked the member website and it hasn't been updated to include T-Rex. Anyone know whether we'll get a DVC discount and how much?

Information about T-Rex from wdwinfo.com:
Starting January 5, 2009, Disney Vacation Club and Annual Passholders will have discounts. T-Rex will be honored as part of the Premium, Platinum and Wine and Dine Packages. As of now, reservations are not being accepted.

We went the first day it was open last week and got right in with no waiting. It was a cool place but VERY loud and very active.

We went day 3, but got there in the morning (10am). Nighttime was crazy, and to get a real Build-A-Dino experience, morning was the best time to go.

Good to know discounts are coming in January! Another plus to staying at SSR!

Per the manager they are offering no discounts at present. Their computer system isn't set up to take things off unless a manager forces it at present. Even though I had direct confirmation from the Landry's corporate (T-Rey division) that they would honor the Safari club, I had great difficulty getting that TODAY. Fortunately the manager knew the person I had communicated with to validate my contact claim.

Haven't seen anything yet but a friend is at WDW right now and is going to eat at TREX this week. I'll let you know if she's able to get a discount.

I heard the 5th then the 15th from the restaurant at various times.

Oh that would be great! I hope they do offer a discount!
The discount has been announced, it was on the DVC website but has cycled off or been removed. T-Rex has also confirmed to me they will offer one starting in Jan, something about thier computer system. I talked to the Landry's Manager over the restaurants on site as well, nice guy. I have his cell number here somewhere, LOL.

What is the Safari Club?

We're currently at OKW and T-Rex is listed in the Portable Perks booklet you receive at checkin. (dated January through June 2009)

We haven't eaten there yet (way too crowded the day we checked) so can't verify if they're giving the discount for real.

Enjoy face to face encounters with life-size dinosaurs, hands-on educational activities, delectable food and phenomenal retail. 10% discount on lunch and dinner entrees for Members and up to three guests. 15% off non-sale merchandise in the Dino-Store (does not include 'Build-A-Dino' by Build-A-Bear Workshop)."

What is the Safari Club?
It's rainforests membership club. Costs something like $20 to join but you get a coupon for like $10 to use plus you get your card info to start using. It gives you 10% off OR a free appy. It also gives you 10% off r a free appy at MOST Landry's restaurants with exclusions of Chart House, Muer, Vic & Anthony's, Pesce, Brennar's, La Griglia. But it does include a lot of good options, some may be in your area at home as well. For the WDW area besides RFC and T-Rex, it includes Yak & Yeti's, Landry's Seafood and Crabhouse. It used to include Joe's Crabshack but they sold that segment off. I've never been in a location that said no or even questioned the discount/benefit. Here's a listing of their restaurants. To to Rainforest Cafe website to get more information.

Made my ressie yesterday for Feb. 5th... I do not think TRex is part of DDP (so 90 or 180 days doesn't apply) but read somewhere that they may be added some time in 2009.:goodvibes

I just spoke with the manager at T-Rex this morning and he confirmed for me you can make reservations up to 6 months in advance. I told him I was going to be making a reservation for Thanksgiving day 2009 and he said to just call in around May 1st and they would be able to make the reservation. The number to call is 407-828-8739.

Good luck!
