DVC discount at non-dvc resorts

Trying to see if we can get in one night early, but our first night we are staying at POR. We are all out of points, can I get a discount at POR with my DVC membership?? We really don't want to stay at POR, but we had some points from a canclled trip that couldn't be used at a DVC resort. Thanks!!

I am a big fan of AP's with their larger discounts. You could buy one AP, and that night at POR could be had for about $89--that's what I paid at Christmas. I believe that DVC discounts are for the DVC resorts, but a studio there would run about $169, I think, with the discount.

The DVC member discount is only available for cash stays booked through MS at the DVC resorts - you could inquire with MS as to if they have anything available through them to get your extra night. If you can get a good rate and availability for the same size unit you'll be staying in on points and book it through them, they can also link the ressies and you won't have to check in and out or move (assumming you are booking at the same DVC resort you've booked your points stay).

Beyond that, sorry but no DVC discounts on rooms.

As already mentioned though, you could always check and see if there are rooms available at any of the WDW resorts (DVC and Non-DVC alike) with a discount code or even for just a less expensive rate than what MS may or may not have. Check out www.mousesavers.com for the different codes that are out for your trip time and eligiblility
