DVC discount at Disney Stores

So I was making my big Christmas purchases this weekend at our local Disney Store and took out my DVC card for my discount when the manager told me that because they are being bought out by The Children's Place, that as of the 21st of Nov. I'll no longer get a DVC discount. Whoa, long sentence sorry! True or not? I didn't know whether to believe her or not, because I've been head to head with her before over my discount. I won, obviously, and she remembered me when I was there this Saturday, lol. I looked in my Clubhouse I just got in email and no mention of it. Anyone know? Thanks!

A CM has reported that the DVC discount will be retained after the sale. I think the thread is on the main DVC board.

Just to confirm what Doctor P said. I am a DS CM and we were specifically told the other day that as of the close of the sale (scheduled to be 11/21) we will still be giving the 10% DVC discount. Of course, this is subject to change at any time and I will keep my fellow DVCers up to date when I hear anything different.

I'm working at DS for the holidays and I was told that the DVC discount does not change as of the 21st.

Well unless you have kids.... it won't matter. The stores have nothing I want anymore. I just walk in, turn around and leave....It is sad... I used to be very fun and I was always tempted.

When purchasing park hoppers at thr Disney Store in the Cherry Hill (NJ) Mall I was not given a discount. Is that normal??

There is no DVC discount on park hoppers, so an error was not made.

I thought DVC got a 10% at Downtow Disney store. But was told this weekend when I was there - NO DISCOUnt!

DVC pass discount is on length of stay type only; 10% I think.

But now the AP discount is just fantastic. (6 of us, we all need adult passes)

There is no DVC discount at the World of Disney in Downtown Disney. It is not part of the Disney Store chain, it's a park store. There is currently an AP discount.

Never has been. Only Play 4 Passes, AMEX and AP have given any type of discount that I can recall.

You might possibly be confusing the DVC with the now defunct Disney Club discount at World of Disney. I'm pretty sure that the old Disney Club offered a 10% discount there. Regardless, the others are correct who mentioned that there is no discount available for DVC members at that store.

I have always recieved a 10% discount at The World of Disney store in downtown disney by showing my DVC Member card. However, i was there the first week of November and they said there was no more discount for us only for AP holders.

There was some weird thing a few years back that if you told them that you used your American Express on your room charge and you showed your room key with memeber on it, they would give you the 10% off at World of Disney. Does anyone remember that or am I losing my mind.

Yeah, I remember that, and used it - plus I used the Disney Club discount. I was never allowed to use the DVC one, although I admit to trying...

FWIW, the manager at our local DS told me that the DVC discount will remain.
