I know I can not renew until 30 days prior to the expiration date of the AP but does that 30 day leeway also apply to “after” the renewal date?
Can the renewal be made on-line and/or by calling MS?

Hi I think it can be renewed for 30days after expiring but the start date is the original date Say it was good from 10/25/07 to 10/25/08 the renewed pass would still start 10/25/08. Also I renewed mine online last year in Aug and it expired in late Oct so it can be renewed now.

You can renew online at the passholder website of disneyworld.com/passholder as long as your pass is still active. Once it expires, you will not be able to logon to the passholder webite.

If you renew during the 30 days prior to expiration, is your expiration date one year from your original date or one year from the date you renew? Hope that isn't too confusing. I want to renew, and thought I would wait until I get down there the middle of September, but I also want the DDE and didn't know if it would be better to renew ahead of time and get that all taken care of.

Its one year from the date you renew I believe, You can now get DDE at guest relations, so you should be able to get your dde when you renew.

The expirtion date on renewed AP's is the same date as your original expiration date + 1 year later. It is not 1 year from the date you renew unless you actually renew on your expiration date. The DDE card has a separate date from your AP. I would advise waiting to get the DDE card until you are there, the expiration date on DDE not dependent on the Expiration date on AP's. I did not renew mine because I had no plans to use it until months after the expiration date. I just get a new DDE membership when I need it rather than renewing since it is the same price whether you renew or not.

My AP is up for renewal in November so are you saying I can wait until our February trip to renew. It would be eight weeks after the renewal date. I do understand it would have a November start date but since we are only going in February it wouldn’t be a problem.

No you only have 30 days past your expiration date to renew your AP. It was the DDE card I didn't renew. Another option is to purchase a new AP in February which would then not expire until the following February. The difference between a DVC renewal & a new DVC AP was only about $20 when I chose that option a few years back. I figured the $20 difference was better than renewing a pass I knew I wasn't going to use for about 5 months. That is a personal choice though. The current charts show the difference between the cost of a new PAP vs. renewed PAP to be $40 and a new AP vs. renewed AP to be $45.

It's within 30 days of your anniversary date, so plus or minus 30 days from the date.
