I got a BLT quote last week and the incentives were:Is this good for all sold out resorts?
Yes. This is for SSR, Poly, BLT, BWV, and BCV. All the ones that say special offer next to them on the add-on tool part of the DVC site. I have attached the pricing sheet for SSR that my rep sent me that shows the breakdown of all the discounts. He didn't send me BWV or BCV cause I wasn't interested interested in those based on price vs time left on the deed
No its only for the ones that say :special offer available, ask your guide". Currently those are SSR, POLY, BLT, BWV,& BCVIs this good for all sold out resorts?
Someone said you get 20UY points as well. That seemed too good to be true? I have a dec UY. So you would get 2020 UY that’s still bankable till 7/31/21, and retroactively pay the 2021 maintenance fees which get new points on 12/1/2021. That seems like some extra points. I’ve never bought direct before so not sure how this works... but I asked a re to call me.
If it is before your use year, as June, Aug, Sept, Oct or Dec would be currently, then on a "current" for sale resort you do get the 2020 points and pay no MF on them. Then you would get the 2021 points when they are supposed to load in your use year month. So techincally you do get double points up front. On "sold out" resorts they will give you the 2020 points if they are available but they may have been already used by the previous owner before they were bought back in ROFR. So for example I have a Oct use year, so when I bought my 75 Riv points this week I got 75 2020 points and will get 75 2021 points in Oct. So I, starting out with 150 points basically. Also, if you are past the banking window for 2020 they will bank them for you as an exception so the 2020 points will get banked into 2021. Hope that makes sense lol
RIV has too many restrictions
RIV is the same as any other resort.
Restrictions only occur when you sell which will hit every other resort long term. In 10 years time the other Epcot resorts will start falling off the resale radar as people want longer contracts then in 20 years over 50% of the DVC resorts will have resale restrictions and the ability to move resorts likely will be hampered.
Today - resale restrictions hamper the price in comparison to other resorts
10 years - it starts to matter less
20 years - resale is buying where you want to stay unless you are flexible and want to stay at POLY/AKV/SSR/OKW (VGF/BLT are likely going to be very difficult to get with everyone who owns those other resale resorts trying to get in there).
It just occurred to me that I can buy SSR direct with this promotion, and sell my existing SSR contracts with the resale restrictions. At the very least, this is an excellent way to upgrade the contracts so they don’t have restrictions at future resorts.
For people who had sold a resale contract before - do the brokers send you a 1099 / is there any reporting of the sale to the IRS?
Thanks.

You understand correctly.I've contracts bought before 2019 and after 2019. Just to clarify my understanding of the current rules: resale contracts bought before the rule change in 2019 are grandfathered into booking the original 14 resorts and new ones going forward, resale contracts bought after rule change cannot?
Does anybody know how the mechanism works? I think it has something to do with the original 14 being grouped together as one development company.
Thanks!
Disney giving you the points for 20 isn’t a bad deal if your going to bank them for the following year
do you have to pay MF on those?
Im already long term thinking about a blue card but 125 points minimum is a chunk.
so I guess with current discounts AKV would be $180. That’s about a 30% premium over resale.
Im trying to now figure out if I buy direct, how long would it take to break even on the annual passes. I could do 2 trips in one year for.
being from the UK, 2 week pass costs $624 each. $100 more gets an annual pass so it’s almost 50% saving if I make 2 trips a year.
