We are in the process of adding our son’s names onto our three DVC deeds that we purchased direct from Disney. Our sons have asked if they purchase additional points from the resale market under our original member number will they be eligible for all the normal DVC perks and benefits?

Assuming you qualify for the perks now, your sons will be eligible for "blue card" perks after you add them to your contracts. Be sure to title them all exactly the same.

If your sons buy additional points, and do not title the new contract exactly the same as the existing contracts or buy a different use year, it will result in a new membership for the new contract. This will make booking more complicated.

Unless/Until you sell the direct contract(s) that qualified you for the perks, buying additional resale points will not impact eligibility for the perks for anyone listed on the direct contracts.

The points are different than the Blue Card membership. The resale points won't be eligible for RIV and so on.

To add, to be added to the same membership, the resale points have to have all the same owners. So, if what you are doing right now is adding your son to ones you own, then any points he buys later must also include you.

But, as mentioned, resale points purchased today can not be used at RIV, VDH, and most likely all future resorts, regardless of what other points you own.

Thank you all very much for the help.
