The DW and I are thinking of adding 50 points to our existing DVC.

We would like the points to be OKW (as that is our home).

I have done a search and have not found where anyone has bought add on points directly from Disney at OKW.

Maybe this is a dumb question but does DVC sell add ons for OKW?

Is there a list to see if these points are available?

Can these points be bought with a Disney Visa (gotta rack up the points)

I hear all other resorts are going for about $89 per point. While I bought our first DVC from The Timeshare Store (they were great BTW), for this small amount of points I would only be saving about $200 bucks (after closing cost, etc) and really don’t feel like going through the ROFR and all that jazz including waiting one month or more to see if we can get them.

I sure would appreciate any advice.

Thanks all.

Yes, you can add-on at OKW directly thru DVC. Pricing is $89 per point with no incentives, but DVC financing may be used for purchases of 50 or more points. Just call your guide. If your Use Year is currently available, there will be no wait. As few weeks ago, DVC had good availability for add-on purchases at OKW, HH, VB and BWV.

The Disney VISA may be used for purchase.

Call you guide (some are available even on Sunday) and see what is available. You can also call 1-800-800-9100 and get some information about an add-on.

Enjoy!

Did you call Member Services or the sale offices?

'Cause Doc is right. At least, they used to be open on Sunday's - as we drove over on a Sunday afternoon to sign our paperwork.

Resales can save some $$ at times, but do the math. Purchases thru DVC will not have any closing costs and dues will be prorated. Resale purchases will often expect a full year of dues be paid, plus many sellers expect the buyer to pay closing costs.

Be sure to add up all costs of the purchase. In addition, since DVC is likely to have points available immediately for an add-on, you will have the transaction completed and have full use of the points right away. A resale purchase will likely take 4-6 weeks to complete.

Do the math. Either source can provide the points you want. :)

MS is closed until Monday, but the sales office is open on weekends. Call the 1-800-800-9100 number and see if someone can help.

Points purchased at SSR expire on January 31, 2054 - contracts at all other resorts end on January 31, 2042 - regardless when the points were purchased.

I agree - we want to add on 32 points this summer and the chances of finding that contract with our YU is remote. Also on that small a contract once you add on the closing costs of a resale it is almost the same as Disney''s price.

On a larger contract it is often worth going the resale route.

admittedly i never add on small................the smallest add on i did was the last at SSR for 320 points............but i am not with DOc on this one...........every resale i have bought the savings have been in excess of 2000 dollars comapred to DVC prices............they can be had but you need to do your due diligence before you leap as in buying anything
