DVC deposit via Apple Pay?

Hi all!

Very random question - my husband and I are over from UK and will be purchasing direct DVC contract this week. Unfortunately, the credit card we wanted to put the initial deposit on has been left at home. We obviously have alternatives but was wondering if anyone knows if Apple Pay would be available as my husband has it on his phone?

We will be paying the contract in full over 90 days or whatever the option is, which we can use the card for when we get home but would love the initial deposit to go on it too to max incentives if possible - it’ll be around $6500.

Obviously can ask our guide this later in the week but just wondered if anyone had any experience of this in past lol!

Do you have the details of the card? Don’t know about Apple Pay, but you can give them the details of the card you want them to charge.

So when I have purchased from the UK, they are not actually allowed to charge you anything until a 15 day period has passed. I’m not sure if that’s the same if you’re signing up in the U.S., but I suspect it will be and you can just wait until you get home if you need to!

Would you consider Apple Pay VERY safe? (well, as safe as possible...)

I only ask because I had a compromised credit card on Uber and when Chase helped me, they said they were surprised that the Chase card was compromised by Uber and they usually have all their complaints about APPLE PAY. Told me to take off if I have in on my phone. Hmmm.
I was just about to put it on my iPhone until they told me that.

This is incorrect information. If you use Apple Pay on your phone it is the most secure method of payment with a credit card. Without getting into too much detail, your CC number isnt exposed to the vendor, it’s tokenized and that one token is only good for that one transaction. I think what the Chase rep was referring to is that criminals will get your credit card information and add it to Apple Pay on a device THEY control and they go around using it everywhere they can until it gets shut down. A considerable amount of fraud occurs that way.

Wow...thank you SO much for this information. I love your answer and appreciate it very much. I'm old and though I know more tech than I ever dreamed I would, sometimes decision-making gets overwhelmingly complicated.
