It looks like our waitlist isn't going to come thru so we are doing 2 nights @ OKW & 4 nights @ SSR. Has anyone ever done DDP for just part of the trip as these are 2 seperate ressies? We weren't going to do it at all since it has changed but now we're reconsidering.....would you do it for the beginning or the end? We have ressies a little bit of everywhere (Chef Mic 1st night & LeCellier 5th night) so I don't know which would be best.

LeCellier is certainly a place that makes the DDP look like a great deal. Chef Mickey's (especially for breakfast) is where the house wins big when people buy the DDP.

If you are considering the DDP for $ reasons, you just have to figure if you have the other ADR's to make it worth while for the 2nd stay.

I did some research on this when I thought we would be doing a split stay and NOT a DVC member. It would have been two completely different reservations. This meant that our dining credits from the first part of the stay would have expired at midnight on the night of check-out from the first resort. Our new credits would have begun at check-in at 2nd resort.

I don't know if it any different if you are staying at DVC. Sorry I can't be more help.

You can certainly do the DDP for just one reservation. We have done just that more than once.

As to which portion to try the DDP, it just depends on your plans. Remember it's good from checkin to midnight on the day you check out so if you added it to the OKW stay, you could still use it the entire day that you move to SSR.

Also remember that it's per night of your stay, not per day.

We did this last year, when the plan included appetised and tip, so whether it's still such a good deal I'm not sure.

We had 2 reservations, and just used it for the 2nd one, and that was no problem. I planned my ADRs and then added up the cost for a sample menu and for the most part the cost of the DDP was covered by the full service meal, meaning the counter service and snack credits were effectively free. However, I don't know if that is still the case without the appetiser and tip included.

I agree with you.

This year we did the deluxe on two shorter DVC reservations and that plan was still cost effective. But it wouldn't be a good choice for a family that wants to maximize park time or anyone who enjoys QS meals.
